The trip to Polis was uneventful and they arrived just before sunset. Rebel had sent a messenger, to ask her parents to meet them in the throne room, when they arrived.
Rebel explained to Kleo, that they would meet her mum's, in the throne room and it was customary to bow your head.
When they got to the throne room door, Kleo froze with nervousness. Rebel noticed and stopped and reassured Kleo. "It's ok, your safe, my mums are really nice and they will love you." Rebel took Kleo's hand and asked, "are you ok now?" Kleo nodded and Rebel lead them into the throne room.
Lexa and Clarke were sitting in their thrones, holding each other's hand and looking lovingly at each other, as they entered. They didn't look like the trained killers they are, they just looked like two women, very much in love with each other. Clarke rushed over to give her daughter a hug, closely followed by Lexa, after the released her the moved back to their thrones and waited for an explanation.
"Mums," Rebel said bowing her head and making sure Kleo bowed as well, "please allow me to introduce you to Princess Kleo Carun of Sou Mica. Princess, this is my mum, Hedakwin Lexa Kom Trikru, Leader of the 13 Clans and my other mum, the Kwin, Clarke Kom Skaikru en Trikru, Wanheda and Skaiprisa."
Kleo bowed her head in respect and said, "it is an honour to meet you both."
Clarke looked between her daughter and the foreign princess, noticing her daughter's thumb tracing circles over the other girl's hand comfortingly and the way the foreign princess looks at her daughter.
"Nice to meet you, Princess Kleo, what brings you to our lands?" Lexa asked. Clarke nodded her head in agreement.
"Mums, Kleo fled her homelands, because her father is forcing her to marry a gross, old guy, to expand his kingdom. She was hiding out in the forrest, near Ton DC, when we meet. I was disgusted by the way she is being treated and bought her here to ask for your help." Rebel explained.
Clarke looked between the two girls, horrified by the story.
Lexa said to Kleo, " That is a terrible thing to have forced upon you, Princess. How do you propose we help."
"I don't know, to be honest." Kleo said, defeatedly.
"I was hoping Kleo could hide out here mums, I would train her to fight and she could assimilate into our society. We don't allow anyone to know who she is and we keep it from Sou Mica, that she's here." Rebel explained.
Lexa raised an eyebrow, at her daughter, shocked at what she was saying.
"I know you don't know Princess Kleo, but I have spent time with her, as well as spoke to her Uncle Alex Carun, he said basically the same story, except he inferred that Kleo was a brat, for not just accepting it and doing it. Apart from this, when I told him they could wait outside of our lands and we would contact our clans for information, on the princess, he was rude and tried to bully me into the same arrangement, that you made with him last time he was here." Rebel explained, "They have no respect for women, especially those in power."
"Did he try to hurt you?" Lexa snarled her fearsome commander personality snapping into place.
"No mum, I took control and made it clear he had no choice in the matter." Rebel explained.
"Princess Kleo, you understand if we allow this unfortunately we cannot offer you a title. You would be a normal citizen, but a normal citizen free to love whoever you choose. You would need to get a job and contribute to society, but we could give you a room here, in the tower." Clarke questioned.
"Honestly that sounds perfect to me, I am happy to give up being a princess and I'm happy to work and serve you both Hedakwin and Kwin. Being allowed the opportunity to marry for love, I can't think of anything better." Kleo said.
Lexa and Clarke made heart eyes at each other at the mention of marrying for love.
"Give your mother and I a minute to talk please, Rebel." Lexa said
"Yes mums we will be right outside." Rebel said.
Lexa and Clarke waited for the two princesses to leave the room, before Lexa said to Clarke, "what do you think, my love?"
"I think our daughter might be falling in love." Clarke stated, with a smirk.
"Really, I thought she was just being a good friend." Lexa replied, unsure of what she had missed, that her wife had seen.
"Rebel looks at Kleo, the way you looked at me, before we admitted our love, for each other, my love." Clarke explained, looking adoringly at Lexa. "Like someone she loves, but can never have. She really is your daughter, Lex, she is absolutely clueless, like you were, she can't see Kleo feels the same, any more than you could see how in love with you I was. I bet they end up together."
"What do you mean how in love you was, you better be still in love with me. There is no escape, my love." Lexa mock growled at Clarke.
"I couldn't stop loving you if I tried Lex, you own my heart, in this life and the next and every life after that." Clarke said, giving Lexa a soft kiss.
"So what do we do about our darling daughter's love interest." Lexa smiled at her wife. "We have to help the girl, but how."
"I think we give her a room in the family wing, of the tower, Rebel can take responsibility for teaching her Trigedasleng, train her and help her assimilate. And then she can help Kleo find a suitable job. Lex I'm positive this is our future daughter in law. We need to help anyway we can." Clarke said.
"Couldn't she fall in love with someone who wasn't from a possibly hostile, foreign kingdom. I know she was hurt by Nadia, but it shouldn't mean she can't find someone else here." Lexa said.
"She takes after you Lex." Clarke said giving her wife a smirk.
"How do you mean, my love." Lexa queried.
"Well did you not fall for the evil Skaiprisa, from the evil Skaikru, who killed 300 of your warriors. Were you not told the same thing, our love was not meant to be. We were star-crossed lovers. But we were meant to be, weren't we." Clarke teased.
"Bekka have mercy, you are right my love, she is following in my footsteps, right down to her preference for sweet, strong, blue eyed women." Lexa said, "let's bring them back in and let them know."
Lexa got up to go get their daughter, but before she could, Clarke grabbed Lexa's armour, at her neck, pulled her into a deep, passionate kiss. "I am so glad we didn't listen, I love you so much Lex."
"I love you too, my Kwin, more than I could ever put into words." Lexa smiled, lovingly at her wife, before getting their daughter and the foreign princess.
Rebel walked back into the room, gripping Kleo's hand for support. When they were standing before Lexa and Clarke, Lexa looked them over with a new perspective and smirked.
"Princess Kleo, we have decided you may stay, it may be wise to change your name." Lexa said, "Rebel, you will be responsible for training the princess, teaching her Trigedasleng, helping her to settle in and finding her a suitable job. You can give her a room in the family quarters and help her get settled in. Your mother and I would of course like to have dinner, with you both, but that can wait until tomorrow, you have had a big day travelling, and please organise armour befitting a princess, for her even though she won't have the title here, doesn't mean she should have plain armour."
"Yes, mums, thank you, I love you both. We will be at dinner tomorrow. Goodnight." Rebel replied.
"Thank you both, I am eternally grateful, you won't regret this, I will be the best citizen you could hope for." Kleo said bowing.
"We love you too, Rebel." Clarke and Lexa said to their daughter hugging her.
The two princesses left the room and Clarke smiled at Lexa, " I give them a month and they will be making out."
"Pfffffffft, she is my daughter, Clarke, she won't be able to see Kleo is into her. She will think she's straight and fumble around for at least 6 months." Lexa said and the two giggled as they teased each other and went to bed, remembering how their love blossomed.
