Another Time, Another Place

Octavia's Plan

Octavia was nervous, more nervous than she had ever been, even hiding under the floor, on the ark, while inspections occured. She hadn't planned to do this now, but everything just seemed to fall in place and if she was honest with herself, nothing had ever felt so right, nor had she ever wanted something so much before.

Determined to overcome her nerves and get what she wanted, Octavia knocked on Abby's door and nervously waited for a response.

Abby answered the door, "Octavia? Is everything ok?"

"Um, yeah, everything is fine, Raven has gone to the armoury and will be gone most of the morning, I was kinda hoping you would take a walk with me?" Octavia asked nervously.

Abby gave Octavia an accessing look, before saying, "sure, let's go."

They walked out to the gardens and when Octavia was sure no-one could hear them, she said, "Abby, I have never felt this way about anyone before. I love Raven, and I know I don't ever want to be without her, she is everything I need. I honestly wasn't planning on doing this right now, but the need is just too much to ignore. I want to spend the rest of my life with her, making her happy and letting her know how beautiful and amazing, I know she is. Abby, what I am trying to say is, I want to marry Raven and I would like your permission to do so, please."

Abby's smile was huge, she had never expected this, honestly she had thought she would have to continue to harrass Raven, to get her to propose. But here Octavia was, surprising them all, with planning a proposal. "I know she feels the same way, about you and I would love to officially call you my daughter in law and feel free to add to the number of grandchildren I have. You have my permission. When do you plan on doing it?" Abby said.

"Thank you, Abby, you won't regret it, I am going to spend everyday making sure she knows how much she is loved. Honestly, I don't know when I'm planning on doing it, I actually didn't plan on doing this now, until I realised I had the perfect opportunity, Raven is busy all morning, and you were here. But I do know it's going to not be a traditional proposal, our Raven, won't enjoy that." Octavia said.

"I am sure she would love it, whatever way you do it, but it would be more special to her, if it was something more to her liking." Abby said, "it shows how much you love her and know her, when you make it special for her."

"I think so to, and I love her so much and I know her. She is special to me." Octavia said with a goofy smile, thinking of Raven. "I best be getting to work, my bosses are very demanding, can I walk you back to your room?"

Abby laughed, as her future daughter in law joked, about Clarke and Lexa. "Thank you, but I think I'm going to enjoy the gardens, a bit longer."

Octavia nodded and walked off towards the tower, where her young seconds were waiting for her. They made there way to Clarke and Lexa's chambers and knocked on the door.

Lexa answered the door, "Octavia, you are a little early, we are still eating breakfast, care to join us." Lexa said, nodding good morning at Octavia, Quinn and Aria.

"Sure, there was something I wanted to talk to you both about anyway." Octavia said. "Good morning, Clarkeeeee."

"Good morning, Octavia, Quinn and Aria," Clarke said, burping Caspian before putting him in his cradle and joining everyone at the table for breakfast. Kissing Lexa's cheek, before sitting down.

Lexa gazed lovingly, at Clarke, before turning to Octavia and asking, "what did you need to talk to us about, Octavia?"

"Is Monty coming to Caspian's name day ceremony?" Octavia asked, as an idea came to her, on how to propose.

"Yes, he should be arriving tomorrow afternoon, they are bringing the rover, so it's only a couple of hours trip." Clarke said.

"That's great, I need to call him on the radio. Oh Lexa, where can I let off some explosives around here, without upsetting anyone. And maybe burn some words into the ground. It would be awesome if the place had a nice view too." Octavia said without taking a breath.
