VIENNA HADN'T SLEPT, she could. Every time she closed her eyes the only thing she saw was Samantha's lifeless body laying on the concrete. Vienna heard Eddie getting ready for his first day back at the fire station after his arm injury. "Vienna?" His voice asked softly walking into the room to check on the brunette. "You awake?"

"Yeah" She sighed sitting up.

"I made you hot chocolate and Gabriella picking Elena and Christopher up from school" Eddie told her placing the mug on the nightstand.

"Eds, I can pick up the kids, I'm fine" Vienna assured, Eddie gave her a look of disbelief sitting on the edge of the bed.

"You're not fine, you just watched one of your best friends get stabbed to death and you haven't slept in two days" Eddie said to her moving strands of hair behind her. She sighed, staying quiet avoiding eye contact with him. Eddie sighed, grabbing her hand. "I'm going to work now, if you need anything..."

"Yeah, yeah, call you" She mumbled glancing up at him.

"...Call Gabriella" Eddie finished. Vienna rolled her eyes giving him an unamused look, "No, of course I mean me" She chuckled slightly as Eddie gave her a quick kiss. "Love you"

Vienna smiled softly as Eddie stood up. "Love you too" She replied watching Eddie walk out of the bedroom.

Her smile faded as she laid back down in bed blinking back tears.

"Everybody have a seat" Sergeant Simons announced to the room full of officers. "Today is a special day for our rookies" looking over to Officer Reyes and Lopez sat in the front row. "'Cause today...we switch things up. That's right. You two are switching training officers. That means Lopez you'll be riding with Bradford and Reyes you'll be with Parker. That's it, good luck"

"So, you have any family?" Parker asked keeping her hands on the wheel giving the brunette a quick glance.

"Excuse me?" Vienna asked.

"I read your file, it says you're from Texas, so, do you have any family in LA?" Parker asked again before chuckling slightly. "Don't worry, I'm not Bradford. I'm not gonna slam on the breaks and make you do some stupid test" Reyes chuckled with a slight smile.

"Uh, I have a daughter. My younger sister lives with me. I have a boyfriend but he's a bit of an asshole" Reyes shrugged. Parker furrowed her brows in confusion. "H-He doesn't want me to become a cop, says it's a man's job"

The blonde scoffed, "Dump his ass. My mother said the same thing when I told I was joining. She's now in a nursing home in Chicago"

"Oh-"
