CANDY WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING with aches and pains throughout her body that she never thought possible to feel. It felt like she had been run over by a truck, but surprisingly she had slept well.
She knew that had to do with Happy sleeping by her side and holding her through the night. Carmen had expected to have a long restless night or at least nightmares, but nothing. She didn't see Beau's face when she closed her eyes and he didn't visit her dreams.
A pained groan fell from Candy's lips as she slowly turned on her side, a frown quickly taking over her face as she noticed Happy's side of the bed was empty. Confidence wasn't something Carmen was lacking, but waking up by herself after a night of intimate cuddling definitely knocked her confidence down a few notches.
Slowly, the brunette got herself out of the bed and made her way out of the room. Happy's house wasn't that big and the distance from his bedroom to the kitchen wasn't long, but it felt like forever for Candy. Her ribs hurt with each small step she took and the throbbing in her head didn't help either.
"Morning." Candy greeted with a tight smile as she leaned against the kitchen doorway. Her forehead furrowed in pain as she watched Happy sitting at the table with a laughing Abel along with Jax and Tara.
"Candy!" Abel's excited voice yelled as he went to run at the brunette before Jax gently grabbed Abel back, sitting his son back at the table and whispering something in the young boys ear.
"You shouldn't be up, little girl." Happy rasped, quickly getting up from the table and walking towards Candy. "You should be restin'." He stated matter of factly while helping her to the table.
"I feel okay." She said with a smile while slowly sitting down in the chair next to Tara, giving the doctor a small smile. "Hey, little man." Carmen turned towards Abel giving him a smile while ruffling his blonde hair. "What are you doing here so early?"
Of course Carmen was curious as to why Jax, Tara, and Abel were all at Happy's house so early. It definitely couldn't have been anything club related. Tara wouldn't have bought Abel along for that nor would she have come along.
