Two lines...
Nyra's POV:
There are two lines on the pregnancy test. I look at mom. She smiles and hugs me.
"I want to get it checked first though." I exclaim
She nods. AJ comes in with Dawn on his hip.
"Honey, you ok?" He asks
" I'm good!" I smile getting up, "you good Mom?"
"You ok?" He questions, seeing the pregnancy test "wait are you?."
"Yes, yes I am! But we won't tell anyone till I get an appointment!" I smile and Ajax walks over and hugs me and Dawn starts crying.
I notice it is 6pm.
"Awww, someone hungry and tired?" I ask Dawn as she reaches for me, "come here baby."
I rock her gently against my chest and she calms down. We walk out. We get ready to leave and mom hugs us.
"Bye you guys." Ajax smiles
"We're gonna get this girl home to bed!" I smile
"Bye!" Everyone smiles
We head off. We get home and put Dawn to bed. We have dinner then head to sleep.
~~~ the next morning!~~~
"Babe, come on, we've got our doctors appointment with the OB!" I sigh, holding Dawn's hand as the young girl waits patiently beside me.
Ajax comes downstairs. I walk with Dawn to the car, I buckle her in and we drive to the OB. We get out and I hold Dawn as we walk in. I go up to the desk. The clerk looks up.
"Hi, I've got an appointment with Dr. Manet, I'm Nyra Casey?" I smile
"Take a seat!" She replies.
I nod and walk over to where Ajax had saved a seat for me. I sit down and scroll on my phone. Dawn starts being fussy so I stand up and bounce her. The 10 month old calms down. I sit back down.
"Nyra Casey?" A doctor walks out, and we walk over, "I'm doctor Manet."
We follow her into a room. I pass Dawn to Ajax.
"Take a seat on the bed!" Dr.Manet points.
I sit down and quickly unlock my phone and play a show for Dawn. I pass it to her. She eagerly takes it.
"So, what brings you in?" Dr Manet sits on a small wheelie stool.
"Uh, I did a pregnancy test and it came back positive! Just want to make sure it wasn't false positive!" I smile
"Okay, lie back and pull-up your shirt to reveal your abdomen." She replies and I follow her instructions, "this will be cold!"
I nod and she squirts the gel on my stomach. I shiver slightly. She runs the wand over my stomach. A picture comes up on the screen. I watch it. A heartbeat begin to echoe. But it doesn't sound like only one.
"Well, looks like triplets!" Dr. Manet smiles
"Triplets?" I ask
She nods, "looks about 3 months along. You'll start showing soon!"
"Oh my gosh!" I smile and dawn looks up confused.
"Your gonna be a big sissy Dawny!" I smile
"Bibby ?" She exclaims
We laugh softly. She cleans off my stomach and prints off 8 copies of the sonogram. One as a surprise for intelligence. One for Mom and Mama and my sisters! One for Uncle Matt's work! One for cousin Violet and Aunt Christie. And one for my friends at med! One for my work!And 2 for us for us! Ajax works from home. We leave the office and drive to the store. We get the things to surprise them and some little onesies! We then pack them in the car and start off by driving to med. we walk in and Ajax carries in Dawn and I carry the box!
"Nyra!" Maggie walks over and I smile, "whatcha doin here?"
"I've got a gift for the ED staff!" I tell her
"Halstead, Manning, Marcel! April, all of you guys, over here!" Maggie calls
They all walk over. I pass the box to Maggie and they gather around. Maggie opens it. They see a sonogram and three onesies. They say baby Zaurelli's due, august, 2025!
"Oh my gosh!" Nat smiles and everyone cheers, "triplets?"
I nod. We chat a little before grabbing the onesies and heading off. I drive us to 21. We walk in, Dawn babbling.
"Ah, Nyra, hey!" Trudy exclaims
"Hey, could you take us up, you may wanna see this!" I smile
She nods and we walk up. Everyone turns.
"Hey guys, we've got something for you!" I exclaim they all walk over.
I pass the box to Hank as he is at the front. He opens it. It looks almost the exact same as the Med box.
"Oh my god!" Hank looks up, "congratulations!"
We hug. Everyone else hugs us then Mom and Mama!
"Don't worry, I've got another sonogram for you guys, B and A!" I smile and get it out of my bag and las sit to mama, "the one in their is for up here!"
"Thanks NyNy." Mom hugs me before we head off.
We head to 51. Uncle Matt is in the main room with everyone else. Hallie and thier kids as well as Millie's daughter, Mariana! Millie is now 28, Drey 22, Hazel 24, layianah is now 20! Mariana is 4!
"Uncle Matt!" I call
"Nyra!" He smiles
"Nyra!" Mariana runs for me!
"Hey Mari!" I hug her.
I pass the box to Aunt Hallie! They all open it!
"Oh my gosh!!!!!" Hallie smiles
"It's triplets!" I smile
"Heyyyyy!" Everyone cheers and hugs me!
We then head over to Christie's and do the same thing then finally head home! We get Dawn to bed then head to bed ourselves!
