—— 𐬽✧𐬽SAVING KIARA 𐬽✧𐬽 ——
This is a story of a thirteen year old girl called Kiara Williams. Ever since she was five years old, her favourite singer has been Taylor Swift. That has not changed, not even for a day. Kiara looked up to the twenty-seven year old singer. She was her comfort person. Taylor was even the person who inspired Kiara to start playing the guitar. The thirteen year old's biggest dream has always been to meet the singer, even if she believed it to be near impossible due to Taylor growing more and more as an artist with each passing day.
Now, you might believe that Kiara's life is as normal as any other Taylor Swift fan, but that is not the case. Let's just say that her life hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows. She has had a very rough childhood. Her parents passed away in a car crash when she was seven years old, and when other relatives were informed about it, none of them wanted to take Kiara in. So, just like that, she was thrown into the foster care system. The thirteen year old developed severe anxiety and started having panic attacks when she was eight years old due to the sudden changes that she had to cope with.
However, it doesn't stop there. The panic attacks were not only caused by the loss of her parents. Kiara had been taken in by three different foster families, who were all sadly only in it for money. None of them truly cared for the girl. Kiara had her first foster family when she was nine years old. She was taken in by a middle aged couple who had two other kids: Luke and Miles. They were both seventeen years old and didn't want anything to do with the younger girl. She was not treated like a part of their family at all. She was given a spare bedroom that looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months, maybe even years. The floor was dusty and cobwebs covered the ceiling. Kiara lived with them for around three months. For three months, she had to endure constant yelling, as well as the occasional beating. The parents would hurt her for getting even the slightest thing wrong. The girl once dropped a drinking glass on the floor by accident, and as a result, she was punched straight across the face.
After three months had passed, the foster parents decided that they didn't want to deal with Kiara anymore and that it wasn't worth the money that they were getting. They returned her to the group home a week before her tenth birthday with the traumatising memories that they gave her. Similar things happened with the other two foster families. However, they would only yell at her, calling her things like 'worthless' and a 'mistake.' Those three foster families led her up to where she is now at the young age of thirteen. Kiara is currently in a group home in New York. The only thing that is pretty much keeping her going is her favourite singer. Despite everything that Kiara has gone through, Taylor has managed to get the girl through the hard times with just her music.
Taylor was saving her.
— 𐬽✧𐬽 ABOUT THE BOOK:𐬽✧𐬽 —
This story is completely fictional. It is set during Taylor's Reputation era when she was around twenty-seven/twenty-eight years old. At this point, Taylor hasn't actually started the Reputation Stadium Tour, it is set around the time when she did the secret sessions. Kiara is also my original character that I have created. My book will contain some triggering topics, like eating disorders, for example. I will be placing a trigger warning at the start of the chapters that need them. I also have no idea how the foster system works so I apologise if I get something wrong. And as this book is set during Reputation, there is a possibility that I will be adding Joe Alwyn to the storyline as I want this book to be accurate and to involve actual things that have happened. I hope you enjoy the book and if you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments. <3
