—❦—I woke up to the sound of my alarm... again. At least I got sleep tonight. I got out of bed and took some time to fully wake up before going into the kitchen to make myself breakfast and coffee. After eating my breakfast, I walked into the living room while still finishing my coffee, and I saw Aurora and Orion cuddling. Yeah, I named him Orion. I have no idea how I even came up with this name, but I thought it was cute.
I spent the rest of the morning getting ready to head out and open the bakery. As it was now 8 AM, I put my shoes on, grabbed my umbrella, and got ready to head out. I made sure every door was closed and locked before leaving, as if I was scared that the same thing as yesterday morning would happen.
It was a rainy day, but I still walked to the bakery. After all, it was just a little water, and I had my umbrella with me. I was visibly feeling better than yesterday. When I got there, I opened the door and got ready for the first customer of the day.
Strangely enough, it was 9 AM, and Lilith wasn't there yet. She usually always got here when I opened the bakery, but she wasn't there. She was probably just late. I hummed random melodies to myself that I somehow had stuck in my head as I made some fresh croissants out of pure boredom even if there were almost too many croissants before I even made those.
« That's a beautiful song you're humming. » A voice said, which startled me.
I turned around and saw the same man as yesterday standing behind the counter. He must've noticed I got startled as his eyes widened when he saw me turn around quickly like that.
I chuckled softly, putting a hand over my chest as my heartbeat slowly calmed down.
« Sorry, I didn't hear you come in... » I said as I walked over to the counter, smiling at the customer.
« It's okay. » The man said, looking down at me.
« So, what can I get for you today? » I asked with a smile on my face.
« Oh... Well... nothing, actually. I just wanted to thank you for yesterday. » The man said, scratching his head slightly.
« Oh! That was nothing. It's alright. I felt bad, so I felt like it would make you happy if I let you take them anyway. » I said, remember how I let him take the cinnamon buns without paying yesterday.
« Also... could you tell me where the bathroom is? » The man asked.
« 'Course, it's right over there. » I said with a smile as I pointed at the bathrooms of the bakery.
« Thanks. » He said before walking away.
I got back to finishing the current croissants I was doing while waiting for customers.

So far, I had served 6 customers or so, but as one of the customers left, I noticed that I never saw the man from earlier leave the bathroom. From where I was, I checked and saw that the door to the men's bathroom was opened, which meant that there was no one.
Oh, I must've missed him.
I felt an odd feeling of familiarity in his presence, but not because he came yesterday as well. I had the feeling that I saw him before, even tho I could've sworn that this man was a complete stranger to me.
