Thr first day of Maddison's miniature winter break was spent with Jackson. Scott had to pull some extra shifts, a few people with way too much money needed custom dresses, calling him into work beyond his regular schedule.

Jackson had to head to DC to grab files for one of his clients, Maddison agreed to accompany him if he promised to take her and Avery to lunch. He had planned on it anyway, Maddison knew that, she just had to tease him. So, bright an early, the three headed out for the several hour drive to DC in Jackson's car. They talked, laughed and sang along to music the entire way.

"Okay, you did what now?" Jackson asked.

Maddison blushed a deep red, looking anywhere but at Jackson as they drove. "I dry humped Steve's leg. God, that is so embarrassing to say out loud!" She said, covering her face with her hands.

Jackson let out a loud laugh, pulling her hands from her face and holding one in his own. "No it isn't, did he like it? Did you?" He asked.

Maddison nodded, almost forgetting for a moment that Jackson was driving and not watching her. "He said he loved it." She admitted. That was embarrassing, she loved it too. Hell, she soaked through her panties and had a wet spot on her jeans from that. But who does that? They didn't even sleep together, not that she didn't want to. She did. But she also loved his reasoning for waiting, it was becoming harder and harder to force herself to keep Steve at arms length. But she was still terrified that when she finally let him in, all the way into her life, he'd leave.

"Then why are you embarrassed? Did you suck his cock?" Jackson blurted out.

"Jackson!" Maddison squealed, covering her face with her free hand. She knew her face was red, it felt hot. Why did he mention that? Why didn't she suck his cock? She wanted to. Hell, she wanted to do worse than that.

Jackson let out a loud laugh, shrugging his shoulders. "What? Babe, you like him. He's a good guy, he's good with Avery and he spoils you. What are you so afraid of?" He asked.

Maddison just shrugged, looking down at her and Jackson's linked hands. "That I'll get attached, that Avery will get attached and he'll leave. He has no reason to stay, I'm broke, I'm fat, I never sleep so I'm grumpy and I never have free time." She argued.

Jackson took his hand out of Maddison's, pinching her thigh roughly until she let out a squeal of pain and slapped his hand away. "One, you've got that thickness that everyone loves these days. I don't even like women, and I'd still pay good money to bite that ass. Two, he hasn't cared that you have a busy life, not once. He hasn't cared that you're tired or grumpy or busy. Three, you and Avery are his reasons to stay. If you haven't seen how he looks at you two, you're an idiot." He said sternly.

"Don't talk about biting my ass." Maddison protested, laughing loudly at his statement. Leave it to Jackson to say something like that.

"That's what you took from that?" Jackson said with a huff. "If I wasn't already bald, you'd have given me gray hair by now." He muttered under his breath. "You're being stubborn. That man adores you, stop pushing him away before he actually let's you." He told her.

The conversation died after that, just enjoying the radio and each other's company while Avery slept in the backseat. Maddison texted Steve back and forth a few times, letting him know they weren't in town until later today, but that she was free after that. For the next week and a half, she was free. Neither school or work would pick back up until the new year. She was almost giddy that Steve said he was excited to get a couple of days with his girls. She loved when he called them that.

Jackson was only in the office for a few minutes, making Maddison wonder why this information couldn't have been sent over fax or email. But Jackson had told her that he needed to sign a few documents and that his client needed to watch him do so. What Jackson did for work was kind of a mystery to her. She knew he dealt with money, investing maybe? She wasn't sure. But she knew he made damn good money, and she knew it was legal. But other than that, his job was a total mystery.
