Somehow, even Steve was exhausted by the time they'd gotten back to the hotel. Maddison was slightly sunburnt, Steve was tan and had a few freckles starting to show up on his shoulders, and Avery was all tuckered out. She'd slept the whole walk home. He got Avery changed and situated, laying her down in the travel crib while Maddison headed into the bathroom for a quick shower. He knew her shower would be slightly cold, hoping to ease some of the sunburn. He figured he'd order dinner and give her the chance to relax.

Steve ordered pizza, just wanting things to be simple for the night. But he did also order a small bowl of pineapple and canadian bacon for Avery, just in case she wasn't feeling any of the options they had in the hotel room for her or if she didn't want some of the pizza. He figured he'd cut a small slice off of his own piece and offer it to her, maybe just a piece of the crust for her to chew on. He wasn't sure, actually.

Maddison came out of the bathroom in one of Steve's shirts and a pair of shorts. He grinned at that, assuming she hadn't packed extra pajamas since she didn't anticipate him shredding hers. But he loved the sight of her in his shirt. "New rule, you're only allowed to sleep in my shirts." He teased, winking at her when she blushed. He loved the blush that took over her cheeks almost as much as he loved the sight of her in his clothes.

Steve didn't intend to tease Maddison about telling those girls he was her husband, quite the opposite, in fact. He loved that she had called him her husband, and it made him wish that it was true. It had him already formulating a plan to sneak off while Maddison was asleep, taking Avery with him while he went ring shopping. He'd had her ring size for months, convincing Emilia to make Maddison try on her old wedding ring to see how it fit. So he knew she was a size 7, he knew her style, and he knew he wanted to marry her.

Steve got Maddison situated at the table, promising her that he'd handle Avery so she could just relax and eat. He always wanted her relaxed when she was with him. He took the seat next to Maddison, pulling over Avery's crib so she could finish her nap before having something to eat. He kept an eye on her while he and Maddison both ate.

The entire rest of the evening was spent in the hotel room relaxing. The three were going to head home tomorrow morning, so he wanted his girls to get some sleep and relax. He wanted the rest of Maddison's week off to be spent relaxing before her hectic schedule started all over again. He hated how hectic her life was. He did everything he could to make her life easier, but he knew he couldn't replace the sleep she wasn't getting. He was with Avery as often as possible. He took over the cooking, the cleaning, and sometimes drove her to and from school so she could nap on the commute. But he knew nothing could give her more hours of the day. She was at work 9 hours a day, at school half the night, and still needed time to sleep and be a wonderful mother. He knew that couldn't be easy, but he was thankful that she only had one year left of college before she could move past this rough chapter.

Steve woke up first before the sun had even risen. He wanted to run with Avery at sunrise, but he also wanted Maddison to get plenty of time at home. So he decided against his morning run with Avery. He figured he'd get the car packed and head on the road before the sun was even up. That way, they could beat the traffic and get home a little sooner. So, he quietly loaded the car with everything aside from his girls and Avery's diaper bag. He figured he'd let Maddison sleep on the way home and let her stay in her pajamas.

When Steve got back up to the hotel room, both his girls were still sound asleep. He didn't figure they'd be awake anyway. It was only 5AM. He gently dragged his knuckles down Maddison's velvety soft cheek, feeling the heat of her sunburn on his skin. He was strict about sunscreen, but her fair skin was no match for a whole day out in the sun. His poor, beautiful girl. "Angel, wake up." He said quietly.

Steve would have more than willingly carried his girl down to the car and let her stay asleep, but then he'd either be leaving Avery unattended in a hotel room or in a car. He wasn't willing to do either one. So, unfortunately, he had to wake Maddison up.

Maddison groaned, sleepily swatting his hand away. She pulled the covers over her head, making him chuckle. "Come on, angel. Go get in the car, and then you can go back to sleep, okay?" He asked quietly. He uncovered her head, kissing her forehead.

Maddison groaned again, pushing his hands away. "It's early." She said in a sexy sleepy voice that sent a jolt of need down his cock. "I know, angel. That way, we can get home early. Come on, up you go, love." He insisted.

Not without putting up a fight, Maddison got up. She slipped her crocs on and headed straight for the car with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Steve couldn't help but chuckle that she was clearly still half asleep. Her hair was a mess and she kept bumping into walls the whole way down the hallway.

Steve grabbed Avery, getting her situated in her car seat that he'd brought up with him and rushed after Maddison. He wrapped an arm around her waist, having to hold back a laugh when she jumped on surprise at being grabbed onto. "It's just me, angel." He said quietly to her. He kissed her temple and walked with her toward the exit to the hotel. He'd already checked out on his phone, leaving nothing to do but to go home.
