New Version of Demons!
To anyone who hasn't read the old version (also under my account) that one is older, complete, and probably better.

That book also has an Explination on demons and shit, most of it does get explained here as well, but that's just better.

Anyway, enjoy.

Dream POV.

I’d given up on speaking a while ago, feeling utterly exhausted after having been streaming games all day. The only sounds present in the office were the clicking of my computer keys as I swiftly ran around and the ticking of the clock above my head. Oh, and obviously the sounds coming from the game itself.

The challenge I had set myself had seemed simple originally: I had just hit thirty million subscribers on Youtube, so I was going to do thirty hours of nonstop gaming. Simple when I had thought about it, after all demons don’t need any sleep, but I also forgot that meant I couldn’t go and eat or use the bathroom.

Still I’d managed to hold out, sitting in my chair for twenty eight hours straight, only standing up for two hours in the middle to play Just Dance and stretch my legs. My fans were loving it, a lot of whom had told me through the comments that they’d taken time off of school or work to watch the live stream in entirety.

But I was in the home stretch now, only five minutes left until my thirty hour subscriber special live stream was over and I was free to go and do whatever. “Do you guys think I’d be able to beat the game in ten minutes?” I asked my viewers, feeling bad since I hadn’t said much recently. “Or will I get killed and lose all my progress?”

The chat began speeding up a mere second after my question was asked as they all began firing answers. I just chuckled before continuing onwards, reminiscing of the last few years I’d spent making videos which led me to this point in time.

I wasn’t the first demon to start making videos on this human website when we had discovered it, but I found the possibilities to be nearly endless. Like most human inventions it was half-baked and extremely flawed, but thanks to demons we had improved it beyond words, same with almost all of the games I played on my channel.

Suddenly a donation came in, causing my gaze to flick over to the screen which showed my chat as I read it, along with several of the comments flashing by. ‘For your thirty million subscriber special you should get a human!’ The robotic voice suggested.

“A pet human?” I asked the chat, my eyes glowing dimly. “I’m not sure guys.” As I spoke the chat began speeding up as more and more people commented on it, most of which were encouraging. Many of the demons in the chat began talking about their own human pets, trying to convince me to get one for myself.

“Maybe not.” I continued. “Some humans are smart. I don’t want one that could end up just opening my door and walking off to its own freedom. Plus, I have Sapnap. He’s enough like a pet as it is without me needing to get another one.” In my few moments of distraction I had pulled my hands away from the computer and ended up being knocked into lava by a mob.

“Shit!” I grumbled under my breath, attempting to save myself but finding it impossible as my character burned to death. “Damn it.” I muttered as the ‘you died’ screen appeared. I sighed before turning to give a sheepish grin to the camera. “Looks like I won’t be beating the game today guys.”

After having been hunched over my computer for a while I was feeling sore, so I took a moment to stretch. “But anyway.” I continued. “I’m not sure if a human would be the best idea. It’ll be a lot of work, plus it means that Patches won’t get as much attention.” The mention of the cat caught their attention and they switched to spamming about her.

They were all talking about how cute it would be to see a human with Patches, but I couldn’t find myself having the same fondness as they had. My gaze raised itself above the computer to the clock and I saw that the little hand and the minute hand were on the twelve, meaning that my thirty hours were up.

I left minecraft before smiling once again at the camera. “Looks like I have beaten the challenge of thirty hours guys.” I told them. “Thanks to all of you for coming and giving your support and making this channel what it is. After all of this though I think I’ll need some fresh air.” I continued saying my ‘goodbyes’ and ‘thank yous’ to the chat before eventually closing down the stream.

When I shut down the computer I took a few moments to just sit in the dark, my eyes painting everything in a soft glow due to night vision abilities that all demons possess. After a few moments the door opened, and my best friend walked into the room. He flicked on the light which caused me to hiss at the sudden change of brightness.

“How did it go?” He asked as he moved to lean on the side of the desk. His eyes glowed a brilliant orange as he peered down at me.
“It went fine.” I responded. “Except the last few minutes they just tried convincing me to get myself a pet human.”

“Yeah I know.” The ravenette nodded. “I had been watching. By the way I’m pissed that you said I was like a pet. I am definitely not a pet.”
“Well you eat my food, make lots of messes, and don’t pay rent.” I teased. “Patches does the exact same thing.” At my comment the wrath demon punched me, something which I deserved.

“Fuck you, asshole.” He just muttered, although a big grin on his face betrayed any anger that he was trying to make me believe he possessed. We’d been best friends for years, having both met before we overtook the human world and pretty much sticking together since then.

Most people were surprised that a wrath demon such as Sapnap, and a pride demon such as myself were able to be friends. Of the seven types of demons, each named after the human legends of the seven sins, pride and wrath demons were the least likely to get along, yet somehow myself and my best friend and roommate were able to make it work.

We eventually made our way out of the office, mainly when I started realising how hungry I was after not eating for over thirty hours. As the two of us began raiding the kitchen for food Sapnap spoke up. “I do have to admit though, a pet human could be pretty fun.” He said nonchalantly as he began heating up some leftovers from the fridge.

“Patches is already our pet, is she not enough?” The small tabby was one I had owned since before Sapnap moved in, so in the pecking order of the house, she was above him.
“It’s nothing about her not being enough.” Sapnap told me. “Humans can talk, play video games with you, and clean up after themselves if they make a mess. Patches can’t."

“Are those your only reasons?” I asked him, raising an eyebrow as I did. Sapnap only answered with a shrug which made me scoff.
“How about I think about it?” I asked him. “For now though, Patches is more than enough.”

As I grabbed myself a plain apple to eat I looked out the window, noting the fact that it was still light and probably quite warm. “Want to go on a walk after dinner?” I asked. Our bodies were able to regulate the temperature and keep us warm, but having good weather and natural light was easily better.

“I mean, I went for a walk earlier since I was bored without you, but I’d love to go on another one.” Sapnap responded. The two of us both began chatting to each other about the recent stream as we sat down to eat.
