Dream POV.

“I’m gonna try to pull one of them out.” Sapnap told me, his voice lowering further. I watched not saying a word as he slowly moved one of his hands into the trunk of the tree. Not even a moment later he let out a shriek and pulled his hand back. “Fuck! One of them bit me!” He shrieked, clutching his hand tightly.

“What do you mean one of them bit you?” I asked, grabbing his hand to get a look at it. After a moment of examination I told him, “that’s barely a scratch, stop whining.” The two humans giggled mischievously and I rolled my eyes.
“Shut up, all of you.” The wrath demon growled. “It could be infected! Is it bad?”

The two of them grew silent at his words. I shuffled closer to the trunk and tried to talk to them again. “How about a movie?” I offered to the pair of them. “If you guys come with us then you two can warm yourselves on the couch and maybe find a Disney film.” The two of them didn’t respond and simply curled up more into one another.

I wondered which one had bitten Sapnap, but I couldn’t tell. Neither of them looked as though they would bite someone based on how cute and small they were cuddling into each other. “You two can trust us.” Neither of them spoke as I said that, refusing to even look at me.

While they were distracted I decided to try and grab them again, hopefully now that they were distracted it would be easier. It surprisingly worked. My arm wrapped around my brunette’s waist and I pulled him out before he had the chance to do anything. “No!” He screeched before trying to attack me. “Let me go!”

“Calm down.” I attempted to soothe him while he tried to bite me, making it clear who the one who had bitten Sapnap originally was. While he clawed at me in an attempt to get me to let go I pushed his head against my chest. As I held him in a position which meant he wouldn’t hurt me or himself he began yelling for me to let him go.

The human who was still in the hollow tree, Karl, was also yelling, although his were a lot more like sobs. Once Sapnap realised that I’d dealt with one of them, he reached in and grabbed the other one, holding the brunette close to his chest.

While the two of them began yelling protests and threatening us to let them go. Neither of them wanted to cooperate with us and continued to try to get out of our grip. “George help!” The one in Sapnap’s arms called. “Make it let go of me please!”
“I’m not an ‘it’.” Sapnap said. “And as we’ve said a thousand times, we aren’t going to hurt you!”

“Let me go!” George continued to cry, attempting to reach out for Karl as I continued to walk with him. “Please we haven’t done anything wrong! Let me go to him!”
“You can go to him when we get home.” I reassured him. “And we might need to get you guys changed too, your clothes are covered in dirt now.”

“Fuck you.” He growled under his breath before yelping as his shoulder scraped against a tree trunk. “And watch where the fuck you’re going! I don’t want a broken shoulder!”
“Sorry.” I muttered before glancing over at Sapnap who wasn’t receiving any complaints from the human he had. Lucky for him.

“Why did you want to get humans again?” I asked, having shifted back to my native language which humans couldn’t understand. “Because we’ll have to deal with them attempting to run away for the rest of their lives! I don’t want to do this for the next fifty years!” Assuming they lived that long, humans who’ve lived in the woods tend to get strange life threatening diseases.

“More interesting than Patches.” Sapnap snarkily responded, also in our native tongue. “Plus, it’s what the viewers wanted. I can’t wait to see how everyone reacts when I start posting pictures and videos all over social media!” Based on the way the humans were watching us I knew they were probably wondering what we were talking about.

“Talk in English!” The one in my arms attempted to order. “What the hell are you guys planning on doing to us!?”
“Nothing of your concern, tiny human.” I responded, now speaking in English like he requested and loving the way his face lit up before he began yelling about how he wasn’t small.

My hands brushed through his hair before Sapnap told me to stop messing with him, although chuckling slightly as he did. “It’s not my fault if he’s rude.” I responded, smirking internally at the way George was reacting as I switched back into the other language again. “Plus, look how flustered he got!”

The two of us continued talking in a language they couldn’t understand, with me mainly doing it to continue to irritate the small being in my arms. Our conversation ranged from the weather, to a TV series we had been bingeing, to ideas to stop the pair from escaping.

Most of our ideas were joke ones, such as getting a collar with a bell for each of them so we could always hear where they were (it was something we’d tried with Patches once but she didn’t like it so we quickly took it off and threw it away). Sapnap also suggested two giant plastic hamster balls, since it also meant they couldn't hurt themselves.

After calling the brunette a ‘tiny human’ moments earlier he had given up on trying to get us to speak in a way he understood. Instead he just crossed his arms and started glaring off into the distance, not even acknowledging his friend when the other brunette asked if he was alright. I couldn’t help but find the stubbornness entertaining.

Although the walk back was quite fun, it eventually had to end and we returned to the house. As we grew closer to the large two story building I could see George’s demeanour drop further into a depressive slump, clearly upset that his escape attempt failed. The hand that wasn’t wrapped around him moved to brush through his hair again only to see the human tense up.

When we got inside I set him down, watching as he hurried over to his friend and pulled him into a hug. “Why the hell did you have to carry us?” George scoffed, rolling his eyes as he began backing away with Karl holding his hand.
“If you didn’t run away then I wouldn’t have to carry you back.” I blandly responded.

“Well if you didn’t kidnap us then we wouldn’t run away!” The British human continued to fume.
“God, you are acting like a child.” I scoff. “Your lives with us would be much better than living in the forest with all the cold and the diseases and the lack of food.”
“And it’s thanks to your fucking species that we have to do that!”

Before I could say anything else the humans ran off upstairs and I heard the sound of a door slam. I growled lowly in annoyance before turning to Sapnap whose eyes were wide at the situation. “I’m going for a walk.” I told him, beginning to return to the door. “Call me if he tries anything while I’m gone.”
