Another chapter named after food. 🍇🍈🍉🍄🍅🌮🌭🍆🍑🍆🍑🍈🍉🍒

Al also I was so excited when I saw 82 comments on last night's chapter. I thought that you all either really enjoyed it or had some constructive criticisms. But it was all arguing about Skittles and M&Ms and which is better. 😭

Karl POV.

“Wake up my precious human.” I heard the kind voice, running like honey through my ears as a gentle hand brushed my cheek. “I made you something to eat.” My eyes fluttered open and I saw Sapnap smiling down at me. “Hello honey.” He greeted, “I got you something to eat. It’s still nice and warm.”

I sat up at his words, looking to see a plate of mac’n’cheese in his hands. A smile appeared on my face at the familiar sights and smells. This reminded me of my childhood, how we’d eat mac’n’cheese and watch a Disney movie; me, my parents, my cousins, my aunts, and uncles.

“You’re staring,” the ravenette demon spoke softly. “If you don’t like the food then I can make you something else. Like maybe we have a pizza that I can heat up.”
“No, it’s fine.” I reassured him. “I love mac’n’cheese, I just never thought that I’d be able to have it again after the demons took over and-”

I cut myself off and grew silent when I remembered that I was sitting beside a demon. My face turned pink and I muttered a ‘sorry’. Sapnap just smiled, not judging or hating me for anything that I said. “It’s alright,” he replied. “Go ahead and tell me how it tastes. Maybe you can start reviewing all of my cooking.”

After he said that, put some of the pasta on the fork and took a bite. It felt like fireworks were going off in my mouth and it made me want to just keep eating and eating until I exploded. “This is so tasty.” I said, a wide grin on my face as I began eating more of it.

Sapnap watched me happily, his eyes glowing proudly at the fact that I loved his food. “You love it!” He boasted happily. “You love my cooking!”
“Yes I do.” I responded before being pulled into a hug by the demon. It was a challenge not to let the food spill but I grinned and leaned further into him.

“You are so amazing,” he commented, nuzzling into my hair. “Just in every light you are so amazing and I am so lucky that I get to know you.” Well don’t you technically ‘own me’? It’s not like you got to know me by passing me on the street or whatever. Still though, I was happy to be able to be held on to the way that Sapnap did.

He inhaled my scent, and I couldn’t help but wonder what it smelt like. There was a knock on the door and I pulled away from Sapnap, not wanting George to see me in Sapnap’s bed and hugging him. Much to my surprise, Dream was standing there in the doorway, and it calmed me down slightly.

“Hey Dream.” Sapnap greeted with a smile, not really caring about the fact that the blond had interrupted our hugging. “What’s up?”
“George and I were planning on going for a walk.” He responded. “He was wondering if you two would like to come along.”

I instantly nodded on behalf of both of us, eager for another opportunity to hang out with my best friend. “To be fair, it seemed like George just wanted to invite Karl so they could hang out, but I decided to extend the invite to you.”
“A walk would be great.” Sapnap responded, noting my eagerness.

I was buzzing. It was extremely exciting to be able to see George again. Plus, I was concerned about the fact that he had passed out the last time he had hung out, and the way that he had been acting at the river, so it was also an opportunity to make sure he was alright.
“We just need to finish eating first.” Sapnap told the blond, who simply nodded.

He explained that we’d be going in about fifteen minutes so we could finish off our food and could shower or get changed or whatever if we needed to. “Great.” Sapnap grinned. “We’ll meet you downstairs then.”

The two of us went back to eating the moment that the blond left, with me and him both eating while leaning into one another. Neither of us spoke for a while as we ate our way through the delicious mac’n’cheese, however over the sound of cutlery scraping against the plates I heard a faint purring.

It seemed that the sound was emanating from Sapnap, and as I set my empty plate down on the bedside table I leaned in subtly to hear what it was that he was doing. “Karl?” Sapnap asked, his brows furrowing when I began leaning into him to hear better. “What’s going on?” The moment that he asked the question, the purring stopped and I huffed.

“Just thought I heard something.” I muttered, a frown growing on my face as I laid myself down on the bed. “It doesn’t matter.”
“What did you hear?” He asked, ignoring what I had said. I didn’t respond. If I told him I heard purring, and he hadn’t been purring then he would think I was weird, or insane.

Suddenly Sapnap set his plate down and laid beside me, and the purring started back up. I anxiously glanced over to find that the sounds were coming from him. Trying to be subtle I moved closer, however he noticed. Before I could react, Sapnap wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him, close enough that my head was on his chest.

A blush was on my face, however I leaned into the demon at the sound of his purring, due to morbid curiosity and also because it sounded completely and utterly adorable. I grinned as his arms hugged me tighter, with a constricting warmth that I found surprisingly nice. “You’re so sweet.” Sapnap cooed when I nuzzled into him.

It seemed as though his body was radiating with warmth, which I found absolutely amazing. I wished that I would be able to stay here forever and listen to his purrs. As I leaned there listening he began brushing his fingers through my hair. It was a light enough touch to send me insane in the best of ways.

“You are so cute.” Sapnap commented, tracing his fingers through my hair. “I wish that I could hold you here forever.” I smiled, feeling the exact same way but not saying anything because of my anxiousness. After spending ages growing used to staying with George it had been difficult when we were separated in the house, having physical contact again was amazing.

“Same.” I admitted, a light blush on my face as one of his hands moved to rest on my back. It was warm and comfortable and calmed me down a lot more.
“Maybe you should get up and get ready.” Sapnap said after a few minutes. “You won’t want to keep George waiting.” I nodded reluctantly and moved out of his arms.

“Good boy.” He added with a coo, making my face flush as I left.
