George POV.

I was practically cradled by the blond demon who pressed my head against his chest, taking advantage of the position immediately after to look over the already obvious bump on my head. The creature winced at the sight, his eyes glowing brighter. Eventually he spoke up, mainly to quieten down my sobs.

“Alright, I’m going to take you back to your room.” He told me as he began walking up the staircase, carrying me as though I weighed nothing. “Then when I’ve gotten you cuddled up, warm and safe I’ll see your newest injury.”

He carried me upstairs, refusing to look at me as he navigated his way through the house and I stared up at his face, attempting to read his expressions. Eventually though I gave up, taking note of his stern rock like gaze directed forwards, returning me to the room which I had escaped from minutes earlier.

When he finally set me down on the bed I immediately began shuffling back, wanting as much distance between myself and this creature as possible. He didn’t move to try and get to me, nor did he say anything as I got to the far side of the bed, instead he was motionless and studying my movements.

His expression was still unreadable. It was quite firm, obviously annoyed by my antics yet not wanting to freak me out. My head throbbed, I was possibly concussed or worse after my tumble down the stairs, but the creature didn’t want to approach until something happened (he may be waiting for me to let him approach, but why would a demon care about that?).

Eventually he spoke up. “Can I move closer to you?” He asked. “I just want to try and check your concussion and make sure you are alright. Then I can bring you food.” I didn’t say anything, instead just glaring at him as I studied his actions intently.

“Please.” He continued, keeping his voice low as he did. “I need to make sure that you are alright.” I didn’t give him a verbal response, only narrowing my eyes before shaking my head at him as a clear and obvious no. “Look, I don’t know what you’ve been told about demons by other humans, but I don’t plan on hurting you.”

“Yeah, like I believe that.” I allowed myself to scoff. “That’s the kind of thing a demon who wants to eat me would say.”
“Well I don’t want to eat you.” He huffed. “Please, I care about your health and don’t want your injuries to be permanent.”

“I want to see my friend.” I responded stubbornly. “For all I know you could have promised him the exact same thing before he lets his guard down and you cut off his head!”
“Your friend is fine.” The demon reassured, and as I studied him from where I sat I noticed his eyes were glowing softly. “He’s just resting, and you should be too.”

“Why would I want to rest?” I asked him. “You will just kill me when my guard is down, that way I can’t fight back.”
“Would you rest if I brought you some food?” The blond creature asked after a moment. “I could get you a sandwich, or soup, or something and you eat it, then you have a sleep.”

The thought of a sandwich and soup almost made me answer with a yes instantly before I caught myself. Still though, after years of rationing berries, rabbit meat, and stale bread between myself and Karl, having a whole sandwich or a warm bowl of soup to myself made me feel like royalty. If I was going to be killed either way, I’d rather it be while I had a full stomach.

“Fine.” I eventually decided. “If you bring me some food then I’ll let you look at my injuries, and I’ll rest.” The creature brightened up as I said that and nodded at me.
“I can do that.” He said. “What food were you wanting?”

Dream POV.

“Why would I want to rest?” The brunette human asked accusingly. “You will just kill me when my guard is down, that way I can’t fight back.” I wanted to roll my eyes at the suggestion. It was a common conclusion humans for some reason always jumped to. But if we were going to kill them with our claws and our teeth, we wouldn’t need their guards down to do it.

My gaze drifted over the figure, taking note of how small he looked on the bed. Maybe it was just because of the size difference between humans and demons, but years of eating next to nothing probably wouldn’t be good for his growth. He was likely malnourished. “Would you rest if I brought you some food?” I offered.

Before he could answer I began listing some options. “I could get you a sandwich, or soup, or something and you eat it, then you have a sleep.” As I said this I noticed the way his eyes widened as I listed the food which had obviously caught his attention.

When I was a kid, before I had become a rich Youtuber and before us demons had even come to the human world, we starved. It wasn’t easy to grow food in the scorching temperatures from under the surface of the Earth, and with the only light source being magma.

Starvation was something I had been very familiar with, so I knew how he would be feeling as food was finally offered after years of nothing. “Fine.” The human spoke. “If you bring me some food then I’ll let you look at my injuries, and I’ll rest.”
“I can do that.” I promised with a nod. “What food were you wanting?”

This caught the brunette up again and he fell silent. His face scrunched up slightly and his brows furrowed as he thought. There were so many options of things he’d have gone years without trying, all sorts of delicious human foods. I had grown in love with them and if I was asked to choose just one to eat I think that I would have acted the same as him.

“If you’d like, I can bring you multiple things.” I offered to stop his thinking before it dragged out for too long. “A mix of fruits and snacks and all sorts of good things. You just can’t eat it all at once or you’ll get sick.” The small human thought for a moment before nodding, clearly alright with the idea.

I hurried down to the kitchen and grabbed a plate before beginning to sift through all the food we had available to see what he would probably want. Without caring too much about the presentation I got cheese, crackers, fruits, slices of ham, and a small slither of cake I’d brought from a bakery a couple days ago to celebrate thirty million subscribers.

Then, after grabbing a new glass of cold water, I hurried back upstairs just as fast. Part of me was worried that in the less than three minutes I had been gone there was another escape attempt, but much to my relief the brunette was still there waiting for his food.

A small grin appeared on my face as I slowly approached him, not wanting to scare him after making what I considered was a small amount of progress.

So Ezra has lots of writing time.

Also... A lot of people in both this book and the original Demons would respond to George's fears of 'this demon probably wants to kill me and eat me' with 'he wants to eat you out.'
Do you guys want Dream to eat George out at some point?
