'~.– they're messing around in the ocean at the shores of solace –.~'

Keefe grabbed Sophie's hand as she tried to walk away.

She giggled when he spun her around and she landed in his arms.

Splashing Keefe in the process, he barely flinched, and his hair drooped from the ocean water.

"I got you wet!" she said, trying to pull away. Keefe tightened his grip on her waist for one brief second.

"I don't mind," he said in a soft tone that made Sophie's heart flutter like crazy.

She stared into his eyes. They were so light and pretty, like ice. But she was so close now that she could see small flecks of darker blue in his irises.

"Sophie," he murmured so quietly that she almost didn't hear him. 

She felt herself melt into him as he pressed his lips to hers, his grip tightening on her waist again as his other hand went up and rested on the side of her neck, caressing her cheek with his thumb before tangling it in her hair.

Somehow, the ocean water no longer felt freezing around her hips, it felt warmer now.

Her heart was racing, and she was sure her emotions were too — That was probably why Keefe didn't pull away for a long time.

When he eventually did, he barely moved his face away from hers. And she could feel his lips moving against hers when he whispered, "I love you so much, Sophie."

She wanted to melt out of happiness and love and affection and so many other emotions, and her heart was bursting with joy.

"I love you too, Keefe." She whispered back before wrapping her arms around his shoulders and kissing him.

"So much," She added quietly when she pulled away.

He tackle-hug-pushed her, making them both tumble into the salty waves and drenching her fully.

She laughed once she'd surfaced and sat up, pulling her soggy hair out of her face and rubbing the water out of her eyes.

"Why?" She asked playfully, making him put on an adorable pouty face.

"You're just so cute when you panic like that, I couldn't help myself." he said, not sounding at all sorry. Sophie just giggled and splashed him again.
