"Hey!" Keefe said. Sophie almost jumped out of her skin.
Keefe doubled over laughing.
Sophie glared at him. He noticed and wandered over, setting his keys on the island in their kitchen and wrapping her in his arms.
"You're super jumpy." he told her, kissing her forehead between words. "I'm laughing because it was adorable."
He kissed her cheek.
Sophie leaned back and looked him in the eyes. "You're not laughing because I'm 'super jumpy'?"
Keefe smiled. "No," he said before he kissed her nose. "I swear."
Sophie wanted to push more, but she couldn't, really. She didn't have anything else. So, she gave in when he captured her lips with his, finally.
