DEX'S POV

"Hey!" Dex said as he tapped Biana's shoulder.

She flinched and nearly conked her head into the door of her open locker.

She rubbed the back of her head. "Sorry," she said as she straightened, her cheeks flushing a light shade of pink. "You just startled me."

"No, I'm sorry," Dex told her, feeling himself blush a little too. "I should've warned you."

He shrugged, struggling to come up with anything else to say.

She was so beautiful it was honestly hard for him not to stare whenever he talked to her or was around her.

Her teal eyes were basically sparkling in the dim light of the level 5 wing, her lips were perfectly glossed, and her eyeliner was a beautiful shade of light purple that matched perfectly with the little flower clip she clipped the side of her hair back with.

She was so perfect, and he really wanted to ask her out, or kiss her, or something.

But one, he was afraid of getting rejected, and two, he wasn't good enough for someone as perfect as a Vacker.

He knew the match wouldn't matter, since matchmaking had been banned, but still; Biana was too good for him.

"You alright?" Biana asked, snapping Dex out of it. "You look flustered."

"Oh.. um.. Do I?" Dex squeaked.

Slow clapping saved him from having to come up with something else to say.

"What?" Dex asked as he turned and found Keefe and Sophie standing there, watching them.

"Nothing," Keefe said, smirking as he elbowed Sophie. "You guys are adorable,"

"We're not..." Dex started, knowing his face was probably beet red.

"We just came over to tell Biana that Linh wants to talk to her. But apparently, we're getting distracted." Sophie explained before elbowing Keefe back.

Biana raised an eyebrow. "Why does Linh want to talk to me?"

Sophie shrugged.

"Okay," Biana said. She glanced at Dex. "I'll... see you later?" Her eyes had something in them that made Dex's heart flutter.

"Yeah," he said shyly. Biana grabbed her stuff, waved to Dex, and then was off, leaving Dex, Keefe, and Sophie standing there by her locker.

"So..." Keefe started after a long minute of silence. He grabbed Dex's shoulders with both of his hands. "We need the details."

Dex's face flushed. "What details?" he squeaked.

Sophie grabbed Keefe's arm to pull him back.

"It's okay, Dex," she told him. "Keefe is just being dramatic."

"But you love when I'm dramatic, Foster," Keefe teased, nudging her with his elbow.

Sophie just glared at him.

"Moving on," Sophie said. "We all can tell you like Biana,"

"And we don't mean as just a friend," Keefe added. "We mean Like Like. This kind of like," he pointed to his face as he puckered his lips and made a bunch of gross kissing sounds.

Dex's face flamed even hotter. "No-"

"Stop denying it," Keefe jumped in. "You are wayyy too red,"

Dex sighed. "Fiiiine. Maybe I like her, but it doesn't mean anything. She's just a friend and... probably only thinks of me that way too."
