"What's a human?" Kayla asked randomly. Keefe perked up, staring at his daughter with a raised eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" he exchanged a glance with Sophie.

"I mean," Kayla said. "What is a human. Someone mentioned them at school the other day. Said they're bad and scary and evil."

"No," Sophie said, narrowing her eyes. "They can be, but they aren't always..."

"I've been around some, they're not that bad. Only their food is weird." Keefe said, making a face. Sophie glared at her husband, he just smirked and said, "I'm sure your mother has lots more stories about interactions with them than I do."

Kayla glanced back at her mom. "You've interacted with humans?"

"Of course," Sophie said. "I know one personally."

Kayla perked up at that. "Can I meet it?"

"You mean her?" Sophie asked.

Kayla looked confused. "Her?"

"Yeah, Humans aren't that different from us. The human I'm talking about is my sister, Amy. She's your aunt, Kayla." Sophie looked pained and guilty.

"You alright, sweetheart?" Keefe asked his wife, looking concerned.

"Yeah," Sophie said, straightening. "I just feel bad that we've never taken our kids to see Amy,"

"That can be arranged." Keefe said, smirking and turning to his kids. "We can visit her."
