"Your hand is so soft," Keefe breathed.

Sophie giggled as she burried herself deeper into his arms, basking in his warmth. He continued trailing soft circles around and around the base of her palm.

It was almost hypnotic, lulling her into drowzyness.

He seemed to feel her mood shift because after a moment he whispered, "you sleepy?" As he gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Yeah," she mumbled into his chest, yawning a little.
She was barely able to keep her eyes open.

He stroked her back, and shifted so he was holding her tighter in his arms, her head against his chest. 

She could hear his heart, slow and steady. Beating softly.

She followed the rhythm, counting each beat.

His reminders of, "I'm here," and "I love you," and the soft way he kissed the crown of her head were the things that finally brought her to sleep.

Her dreams were filled with the beautiful blond boy holding her in his arms.
