"Dex knows." Sophie told Keefe, wandering over to where he was sitting under Calla's Panakes tree. His head snapped up.

"What do you mean?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

Sophie sat down next to him. "Dex knows about us," she gestured between them.

"Ohhhhh," Keefe said, his eyebrows shooting up his forehead. "Did you tell him?"

"No, he guessed." Sophie said. "He wasn't surprised."

Keefe grinned wildly. "No one is,"

Sophie tilted her head, confused. "What do you mean?"

"Okay," Keefe said. "First, tilting your head like that makes you look adorable. Second... It was super obvious for a long time. I think most people just assumed we would eventually happen, even if they hated it. It was probably one of the reasons Fitzy started liking you," Keefe admitted. "I might be wrong, though."

He turned to face Sophie. His eyes always did strange, fluttery things to her heart; turned her head to mush, made it hard to think straight.

She looked away so she could actually speak. "He probably hates me now," she murmured.

Keefe turned her face so she had to look into his eyes as he said, "what do you mean?"

Sophie swallowed hard. "I mean, he liked me. Really, he told me he wanted to kiss me. Then I went and got with you, his best friend--"

"Foster," Keefe said, his eyes firm. "I promise you, if Fitz could get over your break up, he can get over this. It doesn't change anything, okay?"

Sophie nodded, reaching up and grasping his wrist when he started to pull back. She felt him tense when she leaned her face into his hand.

"What about you?" She whispered. "I don't want you losing your best friend because of me."

Keefe leaned closer, leaving the smallest inch of space between them as his hand trailed up her jaw to rest over her cheek. She couldn't stop her smile as it spread across her lips.

"I told you, Sophie," he whispered. "I've always known I would lose Fitz. It doesn't change how I feel about you, or how much I want to be with you." His eyes were soft, sweet, pretty.

Without thinking, Sophie moved to kiss him, pressing her lips to his. His back straightened and he sucked in a small breath, surprised. Sophie pulled away. "Sorry, I-"

"No," Keefe said. "It's okay." His eyes shifted and he relaxed. "Want to try that again?"

Sophie felt herself blush.
