[Yao Yao, if it’s you, how would you go about dating a professional gamer?] Tong Yao thought for a moment, before earnestly responding — —
If it was me, I wouldn’t date a professional gamer. If I had that kind of patience, then I might as well use it to get into Tsinghua University or Beijing University.Review:
I kinda bias to this novel because I read the comments and the controversial of this novel. It was said the author use real life or plagiarized some parts of the story. I thought I won't bother that issue as long as it is good. Then I read the comments told that it gave bad reputation regarding pro gamer because a lot of it doesn't match with how pro gamer should be. Again I thought it's normal for a romance novel to focus on romance relation than the gamer stuff. I'm not familiar with pro gamer world but I played 5 vs 5 MMO game a little bit, so I can relate with how it should be played but not that deep. After reading the comments and read some chapters, I kinda can't enjoy reading it. Because the bad things from the comments are somewhat true.
I read this novel until chapter 20, it's still an early phase. I thought MC is a normal college student but she is not. Story starts when MC friend complain about her boyfriend who is a pro gamer. She broke up with him because they just can't meet normally. MC friend ask if it's MC how she'll act. MC answer she won't date pro gamer since it need a lot patience, just like the summary stated.
Then it revealed that MC also played the game and she is number 1 player in the server. Also she starts playing because she liked a boy who also play the game during senior high school. Her ex become pro gamer, he then become busy. MC broke up with him because they can't have a good time. MC is completely over with the ex.
Then MC got offered playing as pro gamer. This is where I think it should not be that easy becoming a pro gamer directly even if you're number 1 in the game. Also the setting is there's only 1 girl who become pro in america team. So MC is the only girl in national wide who become pro. When MC join the team, she directly join the main team. Replacing a man who retired early. The team has substitutes team but seems they're not that good which again it should not be like that. There's also no conflicts or maybe not yet from the substitute team.
Also stated that her mother only gave her 1 year then resume her college. There's no way that should happen. Playing pro will not be a short term of 1 year.
Then when MC starts training, it is said their team always train as solo. Because when they play duo, it will lead to lose a lot. Another point that's not realistic since the game is a teamwork game.
I know that the author may want to focus more on the romance and use pro gamer as background story but I still find it irksome when reading wrong things about game world.
I decided to stop reading it when MC start livestream for 1st time then ML read out the audience comments on her channel and make her lose focus. This is no way happen in a pro gamer livestream, it's just not professional.
At first I thought I won't be offended or reject that much about the wrong things in gamer world but I can't stand it after reading 20 chapters.
