In the 18th summer, Gu Ruanruan spent her summer holiday in Muyun county. After swimming, she had saved someone from a car accident. That man is Fu Xizhou, who woke up three days later without any memories. The kind-hearted Ruanruan decided to take care of him. And after one month, she developed feelings for him. But before she could confess, that man had disappeared.
Four years later, she reunited with him in the airport. Over the years, her feelings were still the same, much like aging, they grew even more intensely. She chased him for half a year, and finally, he proposed to her. She thinks she finally touched his heart. But, he disappeared on their wedding day, making her fall into a dark abyss. When she came closer to him, she found that his world was way more and more complicated than she had imagined.
When we were just nineteen, we fell in love, I did everything for him. And naively think, if we give all of our heart, we will get the same back. But life is not that simple like that. Not all feelings will receive equal reward.
Review:
I stopped after reading the 1st volume. It is said the 2nd volume was made to a drama. But I lost interest after 1st volume. It's just really typical of Chinese drama.
ML got into car accident and fell to river. MC and several other teenagers saved him. ML lost his memory and live with MC in MC bestfriend house. MC is in holiday and went to her bestfriend hometown. Then she saved ML and asked them to allow ML stayed with them. MC also didn't report the incident to police. They live together for a month. And yep ML family just never trying to search him.
After a month, ML got his memory back and disappeared leaving only a watch. He never contact MC again, at this point he only felt MC is warm and their time is a dream. Man you're rich, you got saved by a woman and only leave a watch...
Four years later MC met ML again. She pursued ML. ML propose to her. MC family opposed their marriage because ML family is complicated.
ML is an illegitimate child. His father is a coward, his grandpa only value the company. ML stepbrother and stepmother fought for company shares with ML. They cause the car accident.
On wedding day, ML left without news again. Don't worry he only went missing for a few hours. He went back, MC family refuse him. In the end he still meet MC. He said his mother is in comma. Then just like that they resume the marriage life.
Soon MC grandpa came and gave photos of ML with young woman in hospital. MC didn't ask anything, she already saw the photos. She covered for ML and just forgive him again. ML also didn't explain anything. MC just make ML promise not to lie to her.
Then they has happy marriage life. The woman in hospital works with ML stepbrother. She went to work as designer in ML unit. ML just let her be. Then she create some misunderstanding making MC sad. ML explain it to MC, MC forgive him.
Eventually in new year eve, ML spent a night to celebrate other woman birthday instead staying with MC. MC in fit again.
ML then finally told his past. His father is mediocre and frustrate with his marriage and life. He met ML mother and fell in love. Then ML grandpa make him choose the Fu family or ML mother. ML father choose the Fu family and ask ML mother to abort the child. ML mother went back hometown and gave birth.
3 years later she went back to ML father. She become mistress again. When ML is 8 yo, Fu madam found out and make a fuss. She fake falling down and sue ML mother. ML mother was convicted. ML went to his father but his father can't do anything but promises.
In the end ML mother was forced to fake mental illness. But then ML was prevented to see his mother. 4 months later, his mother really become crazy. It was all planned by Fu madam. During that time, ML live with Qiao family. Qiao Jiaqi the 1st daughter love ML. ML already reject her but she believe ML will eventually love her. When ML got into car accident and missing for a month, she tried to find ML. Then she got called by gangster faking to found ML. They rape her, then she found she is pregnant. She become crazy too. Her sister Qiao Jiale is the woman who scheme in hospital. She hate ML and want to tie him down for her sister.
I thought Qiao Jiale also love ML so she tried to get back. But then it's just not clear.
After MC found out then once again she accept him back 😏 happy marriage again. MC got pregnant but lost her child because of Fu madam. ML got mad and tried to kill her. The stepbrother then distract him with the contract in his hand. It was contract between ML and MC grandpa. Again even if ML knew his brother got his handle but he didn't do anything. The same tricks are repeated for all conflicts that's why it's a typical Chinese drama.
MC found out about the contract. She want divorce. ML refuse, he tried to get back. MC avoid him. Then MC found out her cousin love her. Because of that her birth origin also got found out. During this time ML went abroad so he didn't know anything. MC grandpa got sick after hearing the news. MC got kicked out by her aunt.
ML got back and learn about it. He tried to find MC. He got news she is in airport. ML went there then got into accident, fell in comma. MC cancelled the trip. She went back with ML. ML subordinate said it ML position can't be vacant too long. MC ask her cousin who love her to help ML. The cousin said it will be better to ask grandpa but MC refuse because she is afraid that her grandpa didn't love her since she is not related. Then as expected, ML lost his shares.
MC grandpa recovered then gave his shares to MC. ML wake up. Got back to work and battle again.
ML launch a fragrance project. Then there's report 2 people got allergy. Boy it's only 2 people but it can bring down a big company. ML went abroad or somewhere else. MC tried to help ML by making conference press. She then directly use the lotion and ask other to wait for 5 minutes. Someone throw eggs to her. MC persist then after 5 minutes she just said look there's no problem with the lotion then left. Then she confined herself in bathroom trying to cheer up that she tried her best. ML is grateful for her then coax her.
MC got kidnap, she run away because of an orphan help. MC saved the orphan sometime ago. The kidnap was arranged by Qiao Jiale. ML report it to police. The mother beg him. Then he release her. Qiao Jiale then move abroad and said he should visit her sister often.
ML grandpa died and ML got the shares. ML thought it was because his father told grandpa that ML stepmother is the one who tempered with allergy issue. The stepmother become angry and tried to kill ML mother. ML report her to police. ML father beg him to release her. The stepbrother promise to give half of his shares. ML then release her since he didn't want the hate continue to his children. Yeah the mary sue also got ML.
I think I read similar plot when ML has another girl who obsessed with him and got into comma for him. It was the same routine trying to guilt trip and make misunderstanding for MC.
I just reread I don't mind you being ugly and blind. Then reading this novel felt like it was a fit for OML and OFL story. It's just MC with mary sue and ML with CEO which said competent but in the end he also can't protect MC.
