Review:
It's binge read worthy. The author is the same with Like Pearl and Jade. I already forgot the novel but I think it has similarity. The conflicts resolved easily and quick. It seems MC and ML doesn't need effort to defeat all the enemies.
A lot of comedy and romance between MC and ML. But from the middle toward the end it told more about the other princes and palace schemes. There are 5 princes, the 1st prince mother is Xu who pretend to be sick. 2nd is Prince An who doesn't interested with the throne. 3rd is Prince Jing who is low key. 4th is Prince Qi who was boasted as ideal prince. ML is the 5th and youngest prince. ML father the emperor, pampered only ML mother. He didn't visit other concubines after he ascended. It was because he knew the other concubines betrayed him when he is under house arrest before he ascended. He was not favored prince, he is under house arrest by late emperor when there's rebel that kill all the other princes so ML father become the emperor.
ML is an arrogant prince even though he helped people. He saved MC who was drown when they were 8 yo. MC is a minister daughter. MC family support ML father and loyal to him. Previously they were banished because they support current emperor. They send MC who was 1 month old to ancestor family. When ML father ascended, MC family return as ministers. Turns out the ancestor family threw MC in abandoned temple. They sent a fake girl to pose as MC. MC mother realize it, MC family broke their family ties with the ancestor family.
MC then met ML and ML mother, she realize they are her benefactor who saved her when she was drown. MC was drown by 4th prince lackey because she heard their plan to kill ML and his mother. Their plan is failed because ML and his mother saved MC.
Several assassinations were failed because of MC. MC was raised in taoist temple by 2 master. The masters turns out a remnant of previous dynasty who live in seclusion.
Toward the end it was revealed that MC is good in martial arts despite her masters said she is bad at it. On contrary they boost MC painting skill. ML also praise her painting despite she is bad. The other also thought MC is good at painting. So 3rd prince copied good painting which turns out ML who drew it. 3rd prince show it to 4th prince. 4th prince copied it and send it to the masters in order to trick them going into capital. The masters knew MC is suck at painting.
