I read this novel a long time ago and just continue to read it. I forgot how's the story in MC past life. She is from 21st then transmigrate to ancient era, seems like she helped crown prince to become emperor then she become empress and general at the same time. MC left to battlefield for 10 years. When she return the emperor loved other woman and he disposed MC. ML was a regent, he killed MC as emperor command.
Then MC rebirth again still in the same ancient era. MC mother already have her when the emperor took her as concubine. MC is not the emperor daughter. Later MC mother died in cold palace, leaving MC alone. MC helped ML who is also in cold palace.
MC took ML as her brother. MC lack of family love so she depend on ML as her mental support. MC then attracted emperor and get him to dote on her as princess.
MC helped the crown prince making a canal across the country. She revealed dynamit to use the canal. Then every nobles and princes including the emperor want to take it and make war. MC refuse to give in then she fake death after reprimanding the emperor, princes and ministers. The emperor regret it. MC went to save ML who is in neighbors country trying to repel them. MC got injured while protecting ML who attack the enemies. ML regret because he is too weak. MC then went back to capital with ML. ML and the crown prince confess to MC that they love her as woman. MC panicked and refused both of them. She escaped to Yuheng country.
She helped Yuheng 2nd prince, Jin Yu. JY is the most handsome, his mother was a diva. JY loves money and become a singer. JY use money to bribe people in palace so he can protect his mother. His mother Yun Ji is a weak woman, she refused to serve the emperor because she loved a musician. For 10 years she is in cold palace but was protected by JY. MC sneered at her and told about JY effort to guard her. Yuheng emperor send JY to Lou Ye general bed. MC saved JY and make the emperor and Lou Ye general have sex. Then JY mother change her temperament. She accept the emperor grace and become imperial consort. She make the emperor sick so JY can took care the government. She also make her guards to sleep with her so she get their obedience. She become twisted and hate MC because JY care her more than his own mother. She exposed MC identity and hunt her. JY helps her to escaped.
MC then decided to went back to Da Yu, as her own identity. This is where I become more disappointed with MC. She was described as having big goal, she want to make every countries better so there's no war. She wants to help common people live better but she hate the intrigued in palace and politic. She plan the canal in Da Yu, make national bank, glass and bricks in Yuheng. But her actions just stirred the palace intrigued then she pat her ass and escaped. When ML confess to her and forced her. MC make excuse that she need to finish something before she can get back. She also instigate ML so he can become powerful regent. But then after 3 years and she stirred trouble in Yuheng, she just felt she doesn't want to conceal her identity and she missed her home so she went back. She did not finished something or make countries unite. When she stayed in Yuheng for 3 years. She just focus on business, but once it's stable, she didn't go to other countries, instead she went back home on a whim to live with her own identity.
When MC disguise herself and went back to Da Yu, she met her master in previous life. Seems like her master dead when trying to protect her. In current life he never met MC so he took another apprentice. His apprentice is the empress dowager niece, Long Han Yan. LHY loves ML so she followed him everywhere. She use drug to paralyze ML guards, obstructing ML to meet MC. ML got furious and want to kill her. MC master saved LHY and fought ML under LHY instigation. ML realize he use the same technic as MC so he just released them.
LHY then met MC, she make her master to fight MC. MC defeat her master, she suggest him to go back to mountain so he won't be manipulated by LHY but her master said he is looking for herbs to help his master. MC then parts with them and look for herbs that grow beside the herbs her master looking for. MC paid some money to herbs collector to show the location. The herb collector was happy, he took 2 herbs to cure his wife who get sick. Then he was killed by LHY because he refused to sell the herb. MC got enrage, she tried to kill LHY but her master keep trying to save LHY. MC become disappointed by her master. She thought her master defend her in last life because he believe in her. But turns out anyone will do as long as she accompany him during childhood. MC cut off LHY 2 fingers and let them go. Her master promised to never let them meet again. MC said she'll kill them if she meet again.
Then when MC return to Da Yu, the common people welcome her and escorts her to palace. There's a lot assassin but ML protect them. Then LHY stupidly reveal herself. She threaten to kill the common people if MC didn't kneel to her. MC kill LHY easily while ML protect the people. Empress dowager got angry and try to make the emperor punish MC. The emperor refused her.
I stopped reading her because MTL is really hard to read. Based on the comments in novelupdates, the plot got downhill. At first I was in awe with MC then I felt she just stir trouble, attract any men to love her but she never know it except they said it. she got close to men and took them as brothers but she never think about their feeling. MC will repeatedly save men, the men will gradually fell in love with her because she believed in them a lot. The men then felt helpless because MC trust is not trust between lovers.
