It is as the summary, story goes as expected. The moral value is highlighted a bit, tell the truth and good things will come. The ending is a bit anti climax, it become like a cult to confess the truth...
MC parent was divorced when she was young. She live with her father who cheated with her mother's bestfriend. The stepmother and stepsister often pretend weak to accuse MC. MC then learn green tea art to fight the stepmother. MC want to get her father's company so it won't fell to the stepmother. She even engage with ML so she can have support.
ML is from Xie family, he is the head and took control. He was engage to MC because MC mother who is a psychiatrist cured his autism uncle. ML family just support it despite MC family who's not that powerful.
MC join a love variety show. She plan to hype CP to get fame. Then she is bind to truth system, forcing her to tell the truth. The system said MC stepsister, Yun Yurou binded to a system in order to suck MC luck. They can take MC luck if MC lied.
MC didn't trust the system, she got frustrated when she can't lie. Then she found loopholes. It doesn't work in text message so she coax ML in messages. The truth system also works for future event or things that MC doesn't know. MC then find out others scandal easily. She also hinted business opportunity to other so she have connection to wealthy family. But these events faded out easily. The wealthy connection doesn't appear at all.
MC mother has a boyfriend for 10 years but she refuse to marry him despite MC urge. The boyfriend had a son. MC and this son, Sui Feng was close. MC ask him to join her in brother and sister variety show. It was said she quarrelled with him when MC decide to engage with ML. I thought SF also love MC but then he just faded out too.
MC is juggling between love variety, brother and sister variety, drama and 2 movies. Toward the end she is like abandoning the love variety and never show up. And the variety team didn't get angry? MC just show up on last day as the novel ending scene.
The story focus on MC evolve from green tea white lotus to be yourself and tell the truth. There are face slaps on some people. Basically the other characters are divided to 2 group, MC enemies or people who will like MC.
Not much romance or interaction with ML. ML is initially a cold person and never care about MC. He just suddenly curious when MC changed. Then suddenly got attracted to her. MC actually think to break the engagement but then when ML said he want to pursue her, MC suddenly said okay with a bit flashback remembering ML who helped her a lot behind the scene and she is touched. But when the event actually happen and MC knew it, she just ignored it, no touched feeling at all...
The ending is Yun Yurou who lost everything abruptly come to love variety and expose MC engagement. She tried to force MC to lie but then MC told the truth. Then the truth session begin. Other guests also confess that they also didn't ask for love when joining the show. Even the director also join in the truth session.
MC also realize that her mother refuse to marry so she can have home. I really want to shout when MC felt touched by her mother. I can't feel the touched at all. MC mother divorced MC father then went on her own despite she cared about her daughter? Sure she had dinner several times and comfort MC. But she knew the father is together with her fake green tea bestfriend and MC is still young. There's no effort at all protecting MC from the stepmother. It is said MC suffered a lot when she was young and what her real mother do? Nothing but meeting MC several times... I would say the characters development is really shallow.
