The sound of a motorcycle race through the city streets of Lastation, blazing it's way down the highway as it eventually came to a stop and parked itself in a parking lot that belonged to what seemed like an apartment complex.
Getting off the book stood a figure as they removed their helmet.
Standing there was a young, short boy with black hair and red eyes as he wore a black jacket over a white undershirt, black pants with a belt attached to it and black shoes.
This boy was Alex Mustang, a twelve year old, closely approaching thirteen, citizen of Lastation who worked as a mercenary, doing many kinds of jobs all over Gamindustri but mainly kept his services within his home nation.
He approached a flight of stairs and went up to the second level, approached his door before taking out his keys and unlocking it.
Alex then stepped into his apartment room before closing the door behind him as he had a heavy sigh.
He had just wrapped up a long day of mercenary work to say he was tired would be an understatement.
The boy took off his jacket and removed his shoes before approaching and just flopping down onto the couch, not even attempting to reach his bedroom.
'God. I appreciate the workload and the pay but sometimes I just can't keep up.' Thought the boy to himself.
As he laid there, no one else showed up to greet him, say hi, or even have dinner prepared for him on the kitchen table.
While this would've been weird for anyone else, this was the norm for Alex.
It was something he had been accustomed to for many years.
Alex was am orphan. He's been an orphan for nearly six years by now.
When it he was seven, a series of unfortunate circumstances would lead Alex to committing what was infamously known as the Lastation Slums Massacre.
An event in which completely change Alex's view of life in a major way.
Though it had been years since then, he's still never fully gotten over that day.
Regardless, it was the decision he made so Alex had to live with it no matter how he felt.
Early on after the massacre, he would live with his Uncle and Aunt until he would get enough money from his mercenary work to move into the apartment.
