Chapter 8: Back Home

Once Alex had caught up to Marie, they would then stop at a door that had 018 on it. Marie knocked and the door just opened without anyone greeting them.

"After you."

"Okay?"

Alex was confused at Marie suddenly letting him go first but didn't think too much about it as he walked into a completely pitch black room.

"Uh, where's the light switch?"

"There is none."

"What?"

"The room's meant to be completely dark?"

"Okay? Why?'

"Don't worry about it. See anything in there?"

"No obviously not."

"Alright then come on. Get out."

"Huh?"

Alex did get out of the room as told but was just completely perplexed about the whole thing.

As soon as he stepped out there, he hears a voice in his voice.

"Ahah success! Good job Marie!"

"What the hell?"

"That voice is your head is 018. Real name Kyu. She's a spirit that can occupy people's minds kinda like a conscious. Kyu can only manifest herself physically in pitch black environments hence why her room has no lights. Even though the only visible detail when she does appear is her blue eyes. You probably missed them when inside. Go back in so she can be released."

Alex walked back into 018's room and sure enough there in front of him appeared two bright blue eyes.

"Wow. That's neat."

Alex stepped out of the room as Marie checked the time on her phone.

"Alright I got time to show you one SCC. After that I gotta go check on 038. Come on."

As the two walked down the hall, Alex had a question on his mind.

"Hey so, how do y'all even find all these weird people? Is it like a one by one thing?"

"My group looks over reports regarding strange occurrences. In the middle of our investigation regarding Kaitlyn, we had received word of a girl who was somehow able to mind control others into following an order she gave out so naturally we're also out looking for her as well. Since we got Kaitlyn first, that mind control girl will end up being 039 unless someone else is found before her."

They eventually stop by a door that said 024 which also had a window next to the door.

"I wouldn't recommend going inside. Peek in through the window." Said Marie as Alex nodded and looked inside.
