As Alex made it back to the apartment, he saw his mom just sitting at the kitchen table scrolling through her phone.

She'd look up and smile once she spotted Alex as she got up and gave him a quick hug.

"Back just in time. I was waiting for you so I can begin on making dinner." Said Akari as Alex nodded before speaking.

"Before you start, can we sit at the table? We need to have a chat about something." He said.

Akari was a little confused about the serious tone he had however nodded in agreement as the two sat at the table across from each other.

"Mom. Are you hiding anything from me?" Immediately asked Alex.

Akari was caught off guard at this sudden start but immediately shrugged it off.

"Of course not. I've already explained every single thing that happened to me during the six years when we reunited." She was saying until Alex interrupted her.

"I'm not referring to those six years apart. I'm referring to before that." He said.

"Before? What're you getting at?" Asked Akari.

Alex didn't answer but instead placed the file containing Akame's information as he slid it over to her.

Akari took the notion as she grabbed the file and began to read through the papers.

As she read more and more, her face paled upon realizing what this was as she gasped in shock.

"W-Where did you get this?" She said in an upset tone.

"I had been assigned to target and uncover the identity of an assassin. After managing to obtain their blood, I had it taken to be tested up north in Kamno by Weiss. Once that was done, Weiss told me the blood belonged to a girl named Akame Satsuki. Dekota then obtained all relevant information regarding her and placed it all into this file. When I read this file, I couldn't believe what I was seeing." Explained Alex as he then stared directly at Akari.

"The assassin's my older sister. For thirteen years, I never knew I had an older sibling. And even after we reunited, you didn't even bother to think about telling me." He said, getting more and more upset.

"Alex. Please calm down. There's an explanation as to wh-." Said Akari as Alex stopped her from finishing what she was gonna say.

"Mom. Just think about how things would've been different for me after the massacre if I had known I had an older sister. I could've been living with her and avoid being utterly miserable and alone! Realizing that things could've and should've been different pisses me off!" He said as he finally snapped.

It was at this point that the fuse had finally blown wide open as in response to Alex shouting at her, Akari would've slap Alex hard on the cheek.

Alex took it as he stumbled back a bit with a shocked face, placing a hand on where slap was.

He then looked up and saw Akari nearly broken down into tears as she was visibly pissed off.

"Just shut up. You don't understand the circumstances!" She shouted at him, ripping the file and papers into shreds as she ran to her room and locked the door.

Alex just stood there and realized he had just made her mom not only upset but made her resort to hitting him.

The boy would sigh, cursing himself for being so stupid as he walked over to his room, sitting on his bed and pondering on why he acted so out of line.

Eventually sunset would arrive as a few hours had passed since him and Akari had that confrontation at the kitchen table.

Unsurprisingly, dinner wasn't made as Akari never left her room once and wouldn't let anyone in as not even her own guardian Yae was allowed in.
