Our car ride was filled with silence and occasional directions to his flat. A Pearl Jam song was on a low volume. Julian was quietly singing it to himself.

I took a turn on an apartment complex and parked on the side of the street. He led the way up to his apartment door. After walking up two flights of stairs, we were infront of a door with golden numbers on it, 23B.

He stuck his hands in his pockets, rustling for the keys. He pulled them out and unlocked the door. "Home sweet home", he said, sighing with relief. It was an apartment that wasn't too fancy but nice, with a kitchen, a tv, a couch and a guitar in the corner. I set my bag down on a small chair near a coffee table.

"Here let's clean some of that blood off", I said. He nodded and directed me to a bathroom. I sat him down and inspected his bruises and bleeding nose. His cheekbone was bruised too.

I looked in the cabinet to find alcohol and a cotton ball. "Okay this might sting", I warned and he prepared himself for it. I applied it to the cut above his eyebrow. He winced slightly.

He spoke to break the silence. "I didn't think the night would play out like this." I huffed and agreed. I lightly grabbed onto his jaw to examine his bruises and I felt a corse of electricity run through my finger tips. I touched the one on his cheek. "Ouch", he said. "Sorry", I said back.

"You seem to be handy with medical stuff", he said which made me laugh. "Not really. I hate veins and things like that. It's just when you grow up with reckless brothers, you get into the habit of doing this kind of thing", I said.

He smiled this really sweet smile that sent me to another world for a second. But then I came back when he said something else. "Wow only girl", he asked.

I nodded. "What about your family life", I asked. "Well my parents divorced when I was young, stayed with my mom, had a cool stepdad", he said. He would pause between words. I just nodded, he didn't seem to like to talk about himself too much.

I cleaned up the blood around his nose and made him put an ice pack on his head. His lip was kind of busted so I dabbed it with a wet towel.

For some reason this made me want to kiss him, badly. And I had this feeling that he did too but I was too nervous. I didn't notice how close our faces were until I was nearly done fixing him up. I finished dabbing his lip and looked up to meet his eyes. Which was a mistake because his eyes were so distracting. Brownish green eyes that I couldn't look away from.

He stared back, then at my lips. I looked down at the bloody towel and blushed. "Well you're done...I guess", I said shyly. I wasn't sure but I thought I saw him smirk in the corner of my eyes. "Here I'll clean up", he said, "you can make yourself comfy."

"Oh I should probably be heading home. It's late", I said. He looked disappointed to hear those words come out of my mouth, I was too.

"Yeah, okay. Well thanks for the ride and being a swell doctor", he joked. I couldn't help but laugh. "See you around Julian", I said walking to his door. He leaned against the door frame. "Bye Maya."

I was sad to leave his apartment but I was also really tired. I walked to my car, trying to start it but it wouldn't budge. I twisted the key again but it just puffed out. "Shit shit shit! Please work", I prayed. After the fifth try, I gave up, banging my head against the the wheel. My car had ran out of gas and there was no way I was getting home.

The only other option was to go back to Julian's place. Hell, I've only met him an hour ago, but what other choice do I have? I walk back up the two flights of stairs and knocked on the door that had the golden 23B.

It opened up and there stood Julian, his hair slightly messier than before. He looked confused at first to see me but seemed happy as well. "Hey again", he said with a smirk. "Hey. My car kinda ran out of gas and I don't have a ride home", I say nervously, "and I know it's such short notice and we just met and all bu-"
