Before Julian dropped me off he said he would pick me up at 7. It's now 6:51. He will be here any minute. He told me we'd be going to one of his friend's house. Nick I think he said his name was. I was incredibly nervous.
I decided to wear a crop top with a high waisted flared skirt and red heals. I put on a choker and styled me hair. It wasn't like me to get dressy but I felt the need to do so. I felt though that I was subconsciously doing it for Julian.
Does this mean something? I just met this man last night and he's ready for me to meet his friends. No, maybe he just thinks I would like them. He said they'd like me. I don't know.
And then a knock at the door snapped me out of my thoughts. I took a deep breath and opened the door. He was standing there, wearing a plain white shirt with dark jeans and a leather jacket. He wore that all with his knackered Converse and I had to admit he looked hot. He was also examining my outfit.
"Wow...Maya you look...great." He nearly whispered the last part. "You too", I said blushing. Julian snapped out of his little daze and asked if we were ready to go. I grabbed my black handbag and walked out the door with him. We walked down the stairs and out to the city streets. "I drove my car here but Nick's house is walking distance, I hope you don't mind", Julian asked. "Not at all", I smiled.
In a matter of minutes we were there and enter this so called 'Nick's' house. Julian must have notice I was tense because he gently grabbed my wrist and whispered, "hey it's fine. They're gonna love you."
Julian and I walked into the door, his hand still holding my wrist. I didn't mind though, if only he held my hand.
"Julian!" Someone screamed out. A guy with curly hair came up to us, with a beer in one hand and a cig in the other. "Man what happend to your face?"
"Nice to see you too Fab.-"Julian said sarcastically, "This is Maya."
He had a cheeky grin on his face and said "I'm Fabrizio. You can call me Fab if you want. Nice to meet you Maya."
"You too Fab", I said with a smile. He looked between Julian and I before walking away to talk to someone else. "Don't mind him, he's probably already drunk", Julian said.
I was then led to the kitchen were the owner of this apartment, Nick, was talking to a pretty blonde girl. "Look who decided to show up. Nice bruises", Nick said to Julian. He let out an uncomfortable chuckle.
"And who's this", Nick said looking in my direction. Julian's smile grew wide as he introduced me as Maya. "Well I'm Nick, I'm sure you've heard tons about me", he said jokingly and sticking out his hand. He was tall and lanky, with messy hair not quite as long as Julian's and electric blue eyes. I shook his hand.
"Actually Julian has not told me a word about you besides this party being at your place", I said. Nick pretended to be hurt and shoved Julian's shoulder.
Someone else joined us in the kitchen. "Oh hey this is Albert", Nick said to the man who just walked in, motioning him to come over. He had curls sticking out everywhere and a kind smile. So this is Albert, I thought.
"Hi I'm Albert, you must be Julian's girlfriend", he said. Julian's eyes got wide. I stood awkwardly
"N-no man she's my friend", Julian said defensively. Albert smirked and stuck his hand out for me to shake. "And you're...?"
"Maya", I said shaking his hand but instead he kissed it, "nice to meet you...I guess."Julian had a stern look on his face and he was getting flustered. And I had to admit he looked extremely cute. Nick stood there holding in a laugh. "Jules is there a stick up your ass", Albert joked. Nick laughed and Julian told him to shut up.
"Oh I almost forgot, Maya you want a beer", Nick asked going to the corner of the small kitchen where a keg was.
"Sure", I said as he grabbed a red solo cup, filling it up with alcohol. He got another one for Jules. We both said thanks and walked out of the kichen. We took sips of our beer, bumping in to some more of Julian's friends. They would ask him about his bruised cheek and busted lip. It made me feel incredibly guilty. Julian noticed, not making a big deal out of it trying to change the subject when it came up.
I ended up meeting Nikolai who was pretty quiet but I hit it off with him.
Julian and I sat down on the couch and sipped our beers. "Sorry about my friends", he said and I could hear Fab from the kitchen saying 'I heard that!'
"It's okay, I like them", I said, in which they all said thank you from another room.
Hours had passed and most people had alreay left. We were all in a buzz, if not more than others, by now. I, on the other hand, had been drink my beer at a steady pace so I wasn't even tipsy yet. Julian had nearly gone through 4 cups of beer. To say he was buzzed was an understatement but he also wasn't completely drunk.
All of a sudden, I saw Nick peak his head out from the hall and motioned for us to follow him. Julian and I looked at each and got up. We went into Nick's room, where everyone was seated on the floor in a circle and a bottle in the middle. Spin the bottle, party classic.
