Kazumi hid behind a tree, her head up against the thick trunk as she tilted it out to peer around. Her expression was focused, and her dull golden irises squinted at the target from afar, rustling inside of a bush.

Kazumi then placed her index and middle fingers over her earpiece as it began to screech like static noise, indicating that someone pressed the microphone to speak.

"What's the distance from the target?" Kakashi's distorted voice flooded into her ears.

"Five metres, I'm ready anytime." Sasuke was the first to respond.

"So am I." Sakura's voice immediately followed after.

Kazumi sighed quickly before pressing further down onto the earpiece, "Yeah..." She mumbled.

This mission sucks...

She tilted her head down, stubbornly kicking a pebble away from her foot. After the survival test, she trained all night to prepare herself for real shinobi missions. Had she of known she would be chasing after a runaway feline, she would've joined Konoha's Military Police Force instead for much more excitement than this.

I guess it would've suited her more. An introvert.

"Me too!"

"Naruto, you're too slow. Go!!!"

Kakashi's order made the four genin's jump out from their hidden spots. The shadowy figure of an animal then perked up from the bush. It let out a horrified shriek when Naruto was the one to grab a tight hold of its body, revealing the startled cat.

"Ribbon on the left ear... are you sure this target is, Tora?"

Kakashi's continuous, distorted voice made the blonde girl pull it out of her ear. The mission was obviously over, and so she shoved it back into her pouch without a care.

Since when have the villagers become so useless...

Kazumi silently kicked another pebble, annoyed.

From the history books, villages such as Konohagakure were disciplined and well advanced. Yet, she found herself — at twelve years old, in this day and age — helping retrieve a tenacious cat back to their owner.

"Yeah, we're sure." Sasuke answered for them, standing a few feet away from the three.

He had his back turned to his team with an arm raised to his earpiece. Though, Sasuke would frequently glance back at them from over his shoulder. Specifically due to the entertaining sight of his fresh teammates.

The cat known as 'Tora' began squirming aggressively in Naruto's arms, making him fall backwards onto his spine. Tora took this chance to claw at his face, and this action caused the Uzumaki to yelp in pain as he begged for it to stop.

Sakura bent over with her hands on her knees, giggling at the sight

"Just throw it." Kazumi pulled a face at him. Between a perfectly capable Naruto and the bratty cat, the small cat was winning.

Hearing this, Naruto was about to launch the sad thing in the air if it meant the pain would cease. However, another voice stopped him.

Sasuke had then turned his body around to face them, watching the scene of his fellow teammates with hidden amusement, "Don't throw that thing!" He firmly disagreed, a secret animal lover.
