The Mist Mission: An Unknown Pain

Kazumi couldn't care any less about Zabuza's disturbing sob story. The blonde girl had already created a clone whilst the man was speaking directly towards Naruto. She figured she'd try the same technique Kakashi had done, seeming it to be amusing for her to add on to this copying charade.

And thanks to her gifted genjutsu abilities, it pulled off well.

She called this her 'mocking desire' - an urge to rile up the opponent. Her real self was hidden away, watching carefully in the mist as Zabuza consistently spoke about his dark graduation. She didn't listen in on the little stuff, but focused more on the disturbing side of his details.

A brutal battle between the students which led to many deaths. Zabuza happened to be in the middle of it all and he wasn't even an official shinobi when he explained precisely how he killed each and every one of them.

His ominous tone never wavered even when showing his eyes squint up in excitement as he reminisced that day.

He's more than just a psycho!

Kazumi dug her fingers into the tree trunk beside her, now on guard when Zabuza's squinted eyes snapped down towards the genin's, including Kazumi's clone.

The man went straight for Sasuke first, elbowing his body roughly which sent the Uchiha flying back before then being punched down to the ground when Zabuza redirected his course of attack.

If it weren't for the impressive genjutsu Kazumi had cast on her clone, Zabuza would have detected that her presence had disappeared by now. Though, someone like Kakashi with his sharingan would've surely noticed that fact from afar.

Kazumi's jaw clenched, now watching as the boy coughed out blood. Sakura had screamed out for his name. Naruto flinched back, and Kazumi's clone stood perfectly still with a focused expression.

POOF!

Naruto summoned his usual shadow clone jutsu as a dozen or so physical copies of Naruto prepared themselves to attack back with kunais in their hands.

Zabuza kept his hand on the handle of his sword, practically allowing the clones to jump on top of him—surrounding him entirely like a bubble.

Just as Kazumi guessed, that attack didn't work.

SWOOSH!

Zabuza ended up throwing them off by using his sword as he spun around on his heel. This caused the shadow clones to pop one by one into smoke when the blade smacked against their bodies, and the real Naruto then skidded against the ground with his bag tightly held to his chest.

Kazumi's brows furrowed — including her clone — both watching as the blonde boy rummaged through the bag all whilst he was still skidding on his bottom.

Naruto then threw a large shuriken towards Sasuke, shouting his name before turning to Kazumi's clone and calling for hers as well.

He had a look which said: 'Cover me' written in his pupils.

So, that's his plan? It's a good thing I hid then.
