Kazumi followed her team inside the specific third-floor room, grimacing at the sight. As her stare skimmed over what felt like thousands of eyes, she examined the crowded room.
They had all looked towards them, analysing more opponents that seemed to enter continuously. Kazumi glared at each and every one who had glowered back at her in an attempt to intimidate her.
It was pathetic. Their eyes of daunting glimmers were no different from Kankuro's brash behaviour towards Konohamaru. Although maybe that could be said the same for Kazumi, as her gaze's level not once dropped. You could put her in a room with the meanest, tallest and buffest person and she would not break.
Only the thick, rich scent of accepting death could. She is still human after all. Yet, not a single one of those said daunting shinobi's radiated a sinister energy of death.
Unlike Kazumi, Naruto and Sakura were anxious. Sasuke's had a disinterested look on his face, actively avoiding the thick tension.
"Sasuke-kun!! You're late!!" A familiar voice squealed, wrapping her arms around the back of his neck.
Team Seven turned away from the rough air to see Yamanaka Ino embracing Sasuke from behind. Sakura instantly scowled at this.
Ino's platinum-blonde hair was tied up into a high ponytail, long to the back of her spine. Her striking light-blue eyes glistened with glee when holding Sasuke so close to her body. Just like Sakura, she was one of the many fan-girls who admired him.
"I haven't seen you for a while, so I've been waiting in excitement." She turned her head to press against his, smirking with blushing cheeks.
Sasuke was physically hunched over, uncomfortable with her close proximity. It was the first time Sasuke genuinely appeared to be distressed, even if it was in silence. Kazumi almost felt bad for the good-looking fella.
Until she remembered who he was. The last Uchiha Prick.
"Get away from Sasuke-kun!!! Ino-pig!" Sakura screamed, pointing her finger at Ino.
Ino slid her body slightly down from Sasuke's back, her arm still slung around his shoulder with a smug look on her face, "Why if it isn't Sakura... Big ugly forehead as always."
"What did you say?!"
Ino disregarded Sakura, her eyes then raised up to Kazumi's apathetic face. She squinted before awkwardly looking away. Ino's reaction to her caused Kazumi to frown, deadpanning when recalling Sakura's explanation from the Mist mission.
"But, when sensei addressed you like a girl, I didn't realise until I took a closer look at your face. Plus, I didn't believe Ino-pig's words."
The blonde Kumo would have rather of not known that Ino thought of her as a boy back in their early academy days. To recently find out that she was the first to break news of her true gender only made that matter worse.
So awkward...
Sakura noticed their small exchange, sheepishly smiling at Kazumi. Though, Kazumi ignored her, focusing on Naruto's big mouth when it opened widely.
