"Zabuza is alive!"

Kakashi's words repeated inside of Kazumi's mind.

The senbon needles he used managed to give Zabuza a momentary death...

Kazumi sat inside her head—a meditation technique Sanjiro had taught her once.

Her physical body rested itself against the open windowsill, one leg hung inside whilst the other hung outside. Kazumi's eyes were closed in deep thought, the blonde girl wanted to process everything that had been happening.

Just a few hours ago she was awoken by her sensei who wore a tense expression as he explained how he knew that the killer Zabuza was alive. To top that, the mysterious hunter-nin was an accomplice.

Kazumi somewhat knew it hadn't added up the second Zabuza "died" right before Kakashi could finish him off.

But before that...

Her brows furrowed as her straight lips curved down into a deep frown.

That thing from before...

Kazumi went to recall what occurred the immense pain burning throughout her eyes and throat.

Zabuza never casted any jutsu... So, what made this pain arise?

Kazumi didn't have the time to process that fact from the fight until now. It may have appeared so, but Zabuza did not use any jutsu to escape the one that Kazumi placed on him. He was only readying himself to do so.

She also noted the moment when she felt the pain, her single hand sign faltered which led to his escape. This was new. Kazumi had never felt such a nuisance when using gravity release before. It only ever left her exhausted.

Why is that?

She chewed the inside of her cheek, frustrated by this.

And that pressure inside of me... that sudden urge of an awakening... What could it mean?

Her straight lips then pursed closed, her eyes slowly opening to meet sight with the stars in the night sky.

Was I just sickly from exhaustion and stress?

She felt as if she was missing something important, like something wasn't right with her. Kazumi then let out a small and silent exhale through her nose, her head tilting back to rest against the windowsill she sat on.

"Kazumi...?" A tired voice snapped her gaze to Sakura.

Her body was unmoving as she waited for the pink-kunoichi to continue speaking.

Sakura stirred up from the futon, now rubbing one of her droopy eyes as she focused her blurry view onto the outline figure of Kazumi until it became clearer.

"What are you doing awake? Are you okay?" Sakura then quickly asked, still having concern for her female friend who had recently passed out hours ago.

Kazumi then let her head roll to the side where Sakura was, "I'm fine." She gently smiled at her, ignoring the headache emerging from the back of her head, and the lingering stings inside of her throat.

Sakura's emerald irises never left her dull gold ones. Kazumi's face slightly hardened when noticing the small frown on Sakura's face. She couldn't fool the Haruno even if she tried. Sakura was too smart, smarter than team seven combined.
