Beneath Sasuke and I's cloak's, we wore the disguises of Kumogakure culture. The security was low in the outskirts of Lightning, and we were able to slither in with ease. The border between Frost and Lightning was a strong difference since the permanent chill in my veins became at ease.

I prefer the warmth and sweat. Being cold like I was back there felt no different than that small well.

On first sight of a person in Kumogakure's red light district, Sasuke and I used transformation jutsu to hide our features. It was better to hang out in the poor-repped place than to get caught by shinobi in the inner walls of Kumogakure.

Of all places, it just had to be a red light district. I once knew a man who'd love this.

"Let's not split up." Sasuke slows his steps to follow mine instead. I adjust the cloak over my head. "And we shouldn't loiter for long."

You think I don't know that? "Then, I'll just take in all I can of this village. If my clan once resided here, I can't help but be curious of a life I could've had." My steps take me to the furthest stall in Kumogakure.

Sasuke clicks his tongue.

As I buy the food and taste the culture, Sasuke only grunts to himself. Each time I stop at a building or view the structure's that were much different from Konohagakure, Sasuke's firm reminders of my main objective cut into my rare enjoyment.

He's so impatient. I found it slightly hard to take him seriously when his face was currently in the morph of a random Cloud villager. But his chakra scent is there, so I don't get jumped by his unfamiliar appearance.

"That's enough messing around." Sasuke stoically said, pointing to the bustle of the swarming streets. "Asking around is our best bet."

True. We'd be fools to just take any more steps deeper into this country without proper guidance. I finish up the meat on a skewer, ignoring Sasuke's judgmental glance as I tossed the stick in a bin.

A merchant ringing a bell catches my eye, and I look to the dark-skinned man with eyes like the sun. He's got a cart of things to be sold or bartered with, so I felt my instinct take me over to him. The Uchiha's steps follow mine.

"The couple over there! Yes, you two!" Sasuke and I stiffen as he approaches, looking us up and down. "I sell all I own for cheap! Even knowledge you can't find anywhere else."

I meet Sasuke's fake blue eyes before back to the Merchant's. "Knowledge?"

"Yes!" He nods profusely, a look of interest shown in his gaze. "Though, my knowledge isn't cheap."

Figured. "I have plenty of yen."

"Sold! Come right this way, valued customers!" The merchant's eyes light up with cash symbols, waving a hand for us to follow.
