3rd Person's POV

They picked up the kids and made their drive back to California. Jack is asleep in the backseat with high blood sugar, and Chris awake next to him, watching a movie on his dad phone. As night started to fall, Eddie and Kacey switched spots. Kacey drove through the night all the way into California and home. She pulled into the driveway to see Buck's Jeep sitting behind her car. Kacey turned off the truck and got out, walking up to the door. Buck opened the door and hugged his twin sister tightly.

"You're finally home!!" Buck says, hugging tightly.

Kacey hugs back. "I missed you, Buck." She says as he lets go of her.

Jack and Chris both walk past Buck and lay on the couch together, falling asleep opposite each other. Buck helps Eddie with all the luggage as Kacey goes to the bathroom.

"Thanks, man." Eddie says, dropping the last bag.

"You're welcome. How was Texas?" Buck asked, leaning against the kitchen counter.

"It was great. My parents watched Chris for a night, and Carlos and TK got to hang out with Jack for a day and night. Kacey and I had a date night/day." Eddie said, getting a bottle of water out of the fridge.

"Aw, that's sweet. You're a romantic." Buck said teasingly.

Eddie shook his head and chuckled, looking at Kacey as she walked out of the bathroom. Kacey walked over to Eddie and Buck.

"Whatcha talking about?" She asked as Eddie wrapped his arms around her.

"Oh, just how Eddie is a romantic for my sisier-" Buck stated as Eddie interrupted. "We were talking about how Texas was." Eddie finished.

Buck looked at Eddie and squinted at him, upset due to him interrupting his statement. Eddie brushed it off as Buck was upset.

"Well, I'm gonna go. I'm glad you guys all got home safely. I hope you guys get some rest. Lots of work tomorrow." Buck said as he started to leave.

"Bye Buck, thanks for helping." Kacey said, sending her brother on his way.

Eddie picked Kacey up after the door shut all the way. "Let's go lay down, baby. I'm tired." He said, carrying her.

As they made it to the bedroom, he laid her down as he got in bed with her. He pulled her in close and held her waist as he fell asleep almost instantly. She felt safe and calm as she soon fell asleep comfortably in the arms of her boyfriend.

Both waking up the next morning. Kacey got the boys ready for school as Eddie made a small breakfast for them to take with them. Kacey got the boys out the door on time, kissing Eddie goodbye as she got the boys in the car and ready.

Kacey's POV

I drove the boys to school, dropping them off and waving goodbye. I got to the firehouse and changed in the locker room. I walked upstairs to the kitchen area and saw Buck talking to Eddie. I sat down at the table and laid my head down. Bobby came and sat next to me.

"You alright, kiddo?" He asked.

"Huh? oh yeah, I'm fine. I'm just tired." I said, nodding.

As the bell rang, we all got into the engine and got to work. Once the engine pulled up onto the scene, Eddie and I both saw that we pulled up to the school. I quickly got out and started running towards the building, as Athena got in front of me to slow me down.

"Kacey! you can not run in there right now." Athena said, pushing me back lightly.

" 'thena, my babies are in there. What is happening? I need to save my babies." I said, worried and questioning everything.

"I know, Jack and Chris are in there. They are safe." She said.

I don't believe her. Buck pulls me back to the engine. I start to cry as my phone starts to ring. I look down and see an unknown number, I decide to answer, putting it on speaker.

"Hello, Kacey. I'm gonna need a few words with you." The voice of terror rings through my ears.

"What do you want?! Let them go. They are innocent babies!" I yelled into the phone.

"Oh, I'm not worried about them. What you should be more worried about is that cute house of yours down on Maple." The man said.

I gasped, looking at Hen as she too heard what he had said.

"No, not my babygirls, they don't even know how I am. I wasn't even their mother. Please don't touch them!!" What I said saying was concerning others.

"I would hurry, or they only have 20 minutes to live." He said.

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. I had to get there in time. Once I arrived, I started banging on the door. My best friend's husband answered the door. I pulled him out of the house.

"Stay right there!" I demanded.

I went back inside, grabbing the girls and rushing them to their father. I grabbed my best friend as she was in the kitchen cooking.

"Kacey!! What the hell is going on!!" She questioned, yelling.

The house that they were all just in blew up into pieces. I covered everyone from the debris.

"He's back..." I say.

My best friend gave me this shocked look before I was gone again back to the school as the police were there to help them. I get back other to everyone as my phone sat on the edge of the truck still on the phone.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"What have I always wanted?" He asked.

I sigh under my breath and sit down. "Okay, fine. I'm gonna go to the middle of the playground and sit on the ground. Let all the kids go, though." I said, standing up.

"Okay, I will know when you're sitting down. I'm watching you if anyone follows. somebody isn't gonna make it." He says.

I get up and walk to the middle of the playground as everyone stays back and watches. Eddie watches me start to sit down, biting his nails. He watches as Jack and Chris come running to the fire engines. He hugs both of them as they run to him. I sit there in the middle of the playground as the field empties. The man looks through his scope as he sits on the top of the building. He aims for my thigh, hitting it. I scream in pain to see if anyone will move. Nobody does. The man aims again, this time, for my right shoulder blade. I screamed in pain, falling over on the ground. One of our police snipers shoots him as he falls off the roof. Chim and Hen are running out there to me. They stabilize me and get me to the hospital. I stayed awake the entire way to the hospital, so I didn't fall asleep. As we arrived at the hospital, they took me back to surgery, and that's when I passed out.
