It makes her sick, the way sadness is addicting. Sadness is familiar. It's comfortable and it's easy in the sense that it comes naturally to her. But everything else about it is hard. The way her body aches with self-hatred. The way her mind spins a...

Athalia felt an overwhelming crushing fear as she, and the rest of the team, watched as the sky filled with the rest of Loki's army. As the portal opened wider to let out the giant Chitauri worm monsters and other aliens.
"Guys," Athalia said, bringing everyone's attention to the black hole. "Call it, Captain."
"Alright, listen up.' Steve said, "Until we can close that portal, our priority is containment. Barton, I want you on that roof. Eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash."
"Can you give me a lift?" Clint asked, turning to Tony.
"Right," Tony nodded, "Better clench up, Legolas." Grabbing the back of his clothes, Tony shot up into the sky taking Hawkeye with him.
"Thor, you got to try and bottleneck that portal. Slow them down. You got the lighting. Light the bastards up." Steve spoke to the male god, as he swung his hammer around lifting himself off the ground. "Athalia, you've got the ground and sky. Find Loki, help Thor with the portal, whatever you can get your hands on. Nat, you and me, we stay here on the ground. We keep the fighting here. And Hulk," The green creature snarled at the small blonde man, "Smash."
"Want to give me a hand big fella?" Athalia smirked at Hulk. He grabbed hold of the goddess, jumping off the ground and heading straight for the building next to them. The higher in the air they got, Hulk threw Athalia for the roof of a tall building.
Sliding on her knees upon landing on the roof, Athalia had a clear view of Stark Tower and the portal. Thor had landed on another building summoned lighting, and fired it at the monsters coming out of the portal.
Holding her palms out to the sky, purple energy shot toward the aliens. She bent her knees, putting her strength in her blast. She groaned in pain as she tried to hold them back. Athalia wasn't used to using this much power, holding back this much weight on her own.
She cried out as she felt a burning pain on her left side. Her arms dropped as she rolled along the roof of the building. Whipping her head back, she saw a Chitauri with a gun in its hands, the one who shot her. Ignoring with burning feeling on her side she shot an energy ball at the alien, but that didn't do much. She stumbled to her feet trying to dodge the fires of the gun. She took steps backward, moving her hands to shield her as more blasts were shot her way. Her heel hit the edge of the wall, she had nowhere left to run. Athalia's spear appeared in her hand, swinging her arm back she cut the head of the Chitauri right as the gun whacked her in the chest pushing her over the edge of the building.
The air left her lungs, as she screamed. A loud roaring sound came from another worm monster as it flew down the street. It was getting closer. She tried to reach for something, use her magic to stop her from falling but her fear overpowered her. Over the sound of wind scritching in her ears, Athalia heard the breaking of glass. The Hulk jumped throw a window of the building across from her. He grabbed onto the giant cybotactic worm, using his strength to pull it in another direction.
