The red smoke dissipated and for a moment, the world was quiet. Athalia lay on the grass Thor not too far from her. She was tried, and unable to move. She could see Jane, standing in between stone pillars. She knew, by the look on her face, that Jane had seen Thor. he looked to be unconscious.
A rumbling noise was heard. Athalia couldn't see where it was coming from or what it was, but if she had to guess, it was probably Malekith's ship crumbling apart. Jane ran towards them, calling out Thor's name. She tried to shack him awake, but that didn't work. She tried to move him but that didn't work either. She only managed to roll him onto his back.
Athalia started to feel, feeling in her body again. It wasn't numb anymore. She gripped her hand on the ground, pulling herself towards the couple. Again, and again. Pushing through whatever pain she felt at that moment until she got to them. Jane hugged Thor, meeting her fate. Her eyes were held closed tightly.
Athalia pushed herself up until she was kneeling next to her brother. She held her arms up, seeing a faint purple cover them. They waited for the ship to fall and break the field. But nothing happened.
"Everybody okay?" Erik yelled out. Athalia looked over at the old man, her eyes landing on the device in his hands. She smiled at him, letting the focus field drop as she knew they were safe. She looked down at Thor who slowly opened his eyes. Athalia felt a wave of relief wash over her.
She hadn't lost him.

"You once said there would never be a wiser king than me. You were wrong." Odin said. Thor and Athalia knelt next to each other at the bottom of their father's throne. "The Alignment has brought all the realms together. Every one of them saw the two of you offer your life to save them. What can Asgard offer its new king in return? Or you, lovely Athalia."
"My life," Thor replied, standing again. Athalia stood as well. "Father, I cannot be king of Asgard. I will protect Asgard and all the realms with my last and every breath, but I cannot do so from that chair. Loki, for all his grave imbalance, understood rule as I know I never will. The brutality, the sacrifice... It changes you. I'd rather be a good man than a great king."
"Is this my son I hear, or the woman he loves?" Odin asked.
"When you speak, do I never hear Mother's voice?" Thor shot back, "This is not for Jane, Father. She does not know what I came here to say. Now forbid me to see her, or say she came rule at my side. It changes nothing."
"One son who wanted the throne too much, another who will not take it. Is this my legacy?" Odin said, sitting on his throne. "And what about my daughter?"
"To rule later down the line, maybe. As of now, I feel as if I may not deserve it or that it would not be right as of now." Athalia explained, looking at Thor. "Loki died with honor. I shall try to live the same. Is that not legacy enough?"
Thor looked down at his hammer, holding it out to their father. Odin shook his head. "It belongs to you. If you are worthy of it."
"I shall try to be."
"I cannot give you my blessing, nor can I wish you good fortune." Athalia looked down at her feet, then looked at Odin one last time. The two siblings turned and started to walk away. "If I were proud of the people my children have become, even that, I could not say. It would speak only from my heart. Go... my children."
"Thank you, Father." The two said. One last nod of her head, Athalia turned away, walking down the long hall side by side with her brother.
