It was dark outside. The party was long over now and Athlaia was slowly heading back to her room. She wasn't drunk, but she was differently tipsy. She giggled as she stumbled over her feet, tripping on part of her dress. Athalia looked out to the opened sky through the large arched windows.
The night sky on Midgard, though she hadn't seen it, was probably not as beautiful as the one on Asgard. You could see the rainbow bridge shining as stars in the sky light reflexed against it. The water under the bridge echoed the moons and planets in the sky, having a rough outline floating on the surface.
Captured by the beauty of the sky, Athalia didn't hear her brother coming up behind her. "Where are you going?" She asked seeing the blonde hair past her shoulder.
"Paying Heimdall a visit?" the god replied.
"Why? To talk about Jane?" Athalia questioned him, "What about father? I thought he didn't want you to think about that stuff. Focus on becoming a good king." She asked raising her eyebrow.
"I don't have to explain my actions to you, I'm older."
"Maybe so, but I'm more mature," Athalia replied, ignoring the fake that one or two more glasses and she'd be drunk. "I'm going with you."
"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am,"
They made their way to the Bifrost, crossing over the rainbow bridge that wasn't really much of a rainbow anymore. Seeing as it was recreated and powered by the Tesseract, the bridge was different shades of blue. She didn't really understand, all Athalie knew was that her feet were sore from dancing and she wanted to go to bed. But she was staying with Thor to stop him from doing something stupid.
Heimdall stood in the middle of the golden orb, that was also previously destroyed went Loki went 'mad'. He stood staring out at the open space in front of him, not facing the siblings.
"You're late," Heimdall said,
"Merriment can sometimes be a heavier burden than the battle."
"Then you're doing one of them incorrectly."
"Perhaps," Thor chuckled. "How fare the starts?"
"Still shining," Heimdall replied, slightly turning his head to look at the young princes. "From here, I can see nine realms and ten trillion souls." The gatekeeper pushed his sword into the center, the walls slowly started to spin. "Do you recall what I taught you of the Convergence?"
"Yes," Thor said, facing his friend. The princess, who wasn't a part of the conversation, watched the walls spin. "The alignment of the worlds. It approaches, doesn't it?"
"The universe hasn't seen this marvel since before my watch began. Few can sense it. Even fewer can see it. But while its effect can be dangerous, it is truly beautiful."
"I see nothing,"
"Or, perhaps, that is not the beauty you seek." Tipsy Athalia asked as she stared into the night sky. Heimdall smirked and looked at the princess. Thor shook his head, looking down at his feet and chuckled.
