Hocus Pocus 2 (Reader Insert)

The Adventure of Jinx, Billy, and Gilbert Part 3

After a long search, the trio were able to collect some of the ingredients throughout the forest, two of them happy to find it and one of them watching the strange varieties with caution. They find a decaying log with a certain mold and mushroom growing off of it. Billy recognized it as the required ingredient.

With a chuckle, Billy scoops up the mushrooms with both hands as Jinx holds a bucket and Gilbert watches carefully, not wanting to have any contact with the growing mold. Once the ingredient is in the bucket, the trio smiles, one of them holding it with nervousness and slight disgust.

The three of them run around the forest, searching for more things. Billy and Jinx jump in front of Gilbert, twigs in their hands. Billy laughs at the shop owner flinching. "Look what we found!"

Over time more ingredients are changed, some of them looking slightly different than the actual ingredients on the list. The bucket gets a bit heavier and the trio begin talking to each other as they look for rotting berries.

"So, Jinx, was it?" Billy speaks up, carefully inspecting the berries between his index and thumb, tossing each one into their respective pile. Jinx hums in agreement, not looking up from their work, moving their hair out of their eyes.

"Tell me, how did you come across y/n?" Billy asks without hesitation, throwing off Gilbert. He never expected a man who died by his possessive girlfriend to be interested in another's love life. Silence hangs in the air, accompanied by the occasional sounds of animals living in the forest before it fills with Jinx's laughter. 

Soon, the three arrive at the carnival, spotting a game serving stuffed spider as a prize, making them excited. They get in line, chatting to each other about how it could be considered a petrified spider. Billy takes the chance and sticks a ball on a hard part of the game, smiling widely as the crows cheer for him. "Oh, good show, good show. Uh, Jinx, how about you try?" He invites the shifter who nods.

Gilbert takes a look at his watch a bit nervous. "Uh, hey, I'm gonna go get the other things. You are doing great, just believe in yourself!" The supernatural beings nod and continue playing, having a good time as the crowd cheers them on."

Bucket in hand, Gilbert arrives back at the shop, rushing over to the hourglass. An idea crosses his head and he turns it over, only for the same amount of sand to stand no matter how many times he does so, making his stomach drop further.

In moments, Jinx and Billy stumble in with smiles, holding up the spiders that they've won. Billy's face drops, however, when he spots the hourglass and the nervous look on Gilbert. He connects the dots and the zombie points an accusing finger at the human. "She cursed you! You are not trying to kill them, you are helping them! You liar!" He slams the spider on the ground.

Jinx tries to interject, but Billy holds out a hand. "No! I do not wish to hear the words of some...errand rat that converses with those wretches!" With that, he stumbles off with Gilbert and Jinx rushing after him. "Please, stop!" The human begs. "I need your head!" He tells the zombie, who flails an arm to a couple dressed as an undead bride and groom. "Thake theirs!"

Gilbert finally reaches the zombie, shaking his head frantically. "It has to be you, you were her lover!" This makes Billy grunt and Jinx cuts in. "One kiss!" And Billy nods in thanks at the shifter. "Exactly. We shared one kiss."

Billy takes a beat to calm his tone and holds out his hands. "Please. Let me explain." Billy stands still, waiting for Gilbert to explain, Jinx also stays silent, only to let a sound of shock when Gilbert puts Billy in a headlock. "No! Gilbert!" They demand as Billy's head pops off and Gilbert runs off.

The shifter goes to follow but sees the body walking aimlessly, wondering what to do. "OH FOR FU-"
