𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞

The whole group was shocked to see Valentine Morgenstern. They didn't know what Valentine wanted from them.

- Clarissa. Nice to see you again. Where is your brother Jace? - Valentine asked as he started toward them.

Buffy clutched the book to her chest and made sure Clary didn't do anything stupid, considering Valentine might have killed them.

- You think I'll tell you? - Clary hissed.

- You won't have to, Clarissa - Valentine said mysteriously with a smile, which unsettled Buffy, who didn't know what he meant and what Jace had gotten himself into.

- Don't touch her! - Simon shouted and ran at vampire speed to Valentine.

According to Buffy, he acted very stupidly and the group on danger. Shadowhunters and Buffy reacted quickly. Valentine grabbed the vampire by the collar and threw him across the room.

- Simon! - Izzy screamed in panic. The black-haired girl wrapped a whip around Valentine's arm and pulled at him to stop Valentine from hurting Simon.

- Leave them alone! - Jace shouted as he ran into the room and aimed the blade at Valentine. - You won't escape this time, Valentine

Then one of the circle members grabbed Simon off the floor and put a blade to his throat, and the other grabbed Izzy and did the same.

Buffy didn't move and kept Clary close to her to protect her from Valentine as best she could.

- Are you finally ready to kill your own father? - Valentine asked as he focused on Jace.

- You abandoned me! - Jace said furiously as he stared at the man in front of him.

- I was protecting you. You weren't ready then, but you grew up and became the warrior I trained you to be - Said Valentine as he lowered his sword.

- You trained me well - Jace commented.

- I'm here for a reason. Listen, fight me and watch your friends die - Said Valentine as two more members of the circle entered. One held Magnus and the other held Alec.

- Ah, Clarissa - Valentine said as he began to approach the girls. - You look just like your mother.

- Don't get close to her, Valentine, or you'll regret it - Buffy warned him not to get close to Clary, and to her surprise he listened to her.

- Clarissa, I want to do everything for those you love. I'm touched, but... this book was never part of my plan. I want you to wake up your mother. I know you'll all join me eventually - Valentine said to Clary, and faced Jace again.

- Are you ready? - He asked Jace and looked at his friends he loved before lowering his sword.
