I've always been the kind of girl
Who falls fast
Who falls hard.
And when it ends,
I act shocked,
But I'm not.
I'm just hurt.
I wish I could fall slow,
Could fall gentle
And careful.
And when I get hurt,
I don't act
When I'm not.
I'm just honest.
I wish I wouldn't fall so fast
For ones who can't catch,
Who can't hold,
Who can't love.
I wish I could fall slow
For ones who are good,
Who are careful,
Who know.
I wish I wouldn't fall at all
For the bad boys,
The reckless boys,
The fictional boys.
I wish I didn't always fall
So damn fast,
So damn hard.
But one day I'll fall fast,
I'll fall hard,
And he won't add to the scars.
One day I'll fall,
Whether gentle or hard,
For the one who is real,
For the one who is mine.
