A lot changed since the summer of 1985. The first two months were great. Max called Kate all the time. They were every day on the phone, for hours. But after two months, she stopped calling or sending letters. She always hung up when she heard Kate's voice, so Kate ended it officially. For a week or two, she was a mess. But she decided to fix her life.
So now, she's quite popular. She's a sophomore at Lenoha Hills High School, since she was a year older than Will and El. Kate finally moved on and found a boyfriend. She was happy. Or at least she thought so.
