"The doors to the maze... they aren't closing!" Toritsuka's cry of panic rang throughout the room.

"That's impossible." Said Kuboyasu. "They have to close."

Toritsuka shook his head. "The sun set a while ago. They're still wide open..."

Kaidou was the first to panic. "W-wait, this can't be happening... this can't be happening! The doors! They have to close! Is this some sort of sick joke!?" He started to hyperventilate, gripping onto the nearest thing to try and calm himself, which was Nendou's shirt.

Everyone else began to panic with the boy, it seems. But Saiki was awfully quiet. He supposed he was in a state of shock and fear– like a deer in headlights. He couldn't quite think. He couldn't quite believe the situation either. He hadn't even noticed his feet moving until he heard Nendou call after him, and the patter of feet following him.

He eventually stopped walking when he reached the maze doors. They were wide open, just as Toritsuka said. Everyone stood behind Saiki as they all stared into the dark corridor, completely silent besides the sound of fearful boys running around in the background and the faint clicking noise of a monster down far into the maze. Saiki knew very well what was coming.

"Kuboyasu." He called to the boy with urgency. "Take everyone and hide. Now." He demanded.

"What about you?" The purple haired boy asked, concerned.

"I'll collect some supplies for us and grab some weapons. We may have to fight."

"I'll take everyone to the mapping hut, since it's far off from the rest of the glade." Kuboyasu added, gathering up the group.

"Nendou, can you come with me?" As much as Saiki knew Nendou wasn't the brightest of the group, he was still the strongest and most trustworthy.

"Of course, buddy." He nodded, ready to step up.

"I'm coming too." Teruhashi stepped forward, eager to help out and follow Saiki around. Perhaps it was because she felt more comfortable with him, or maybe it was because she was the type to step into action quickly. Whatever it was, Saiki didn't agree with it. At least not now.

"No." The pink haired boy said bluntly.

"Wha–?!"

"I would prefer if you stayed with the others. It's safer."

Teruhashi shook her head, she wanted to at least reason with him. "Oh come on! I basically just arrived here– and now everythings falling apart. I don't even know what's coming after us!"

"..." Saiki supposed he should show her some sympathy. It was true, she was really left in the dark about everything when it came to both the glade and the maze. "Fine. You can come too." He said reluctantly. The three were about to part ways from the rest of the group until Saiki felt the presence of Toritsuka shimmying up behind him.

"... Can I come too?"

"In your dreams."

Quickly, the three ran to Saiki, Nendou, and Kaidou's hut– where Nendou said he kept a few spears lying around (Saiki knew about this, but didn't dare question it). There were only three of them in total– the rest would be kept in the mapping hut, which made more sense, but he supposed no one wanted to argue with Nendou. The others would be waiting. Saiki tossed one to Nendou, and one to Teruhashi, but before they left, something had caught Saiki's eye. The antennas.

"Are you coming?" Teruhashi asked, tilting her head and wondering what took him so long.

"... Yeah." Without thinking, the boy grabbed them and shoved them into his pocket. He didn't know why he did it... he's only ever had bad experiences with those things– but something drew him to them.
