Trigger Warnings: death, gore, mentions of Makoto Teruhashi, alluding to ideas of s*icide

A little while later, Saiki decided to leave Aiura to rest by herself and go look for the others. When he saw them, they were all sitting around a campfire. Kongou had cooked up some skewers for them– the first hot meal they had in a long time. They were also dressed in much warmer clothing; sweaters, jackets, thicker cargo pants. The weather was getting colder day by day and Saiki was grateful that they had found the Resistance when they did. He couldn't imagine being stuck in the city in such harsh conditions.

"Saiki!" Toritsuka happily waved him over, wearing a smile the pink haired boy hadn't seen in a long time.

"How's Aiura?" Kaidou was the first to ask. "We were all worried about her."

"... She's doing better." Saiki replied reluctantly. "What have you all been doing?"

"Well, Yumehara was just telling us about all the things they did in her maze."

"I'm so surprised Akechi hadn't told you guys any stories!" Yumehara smiled with a small laugh. "He's usually such a talker."

The blonde boy shrugged. "I suppose I never really had time. There's lots of other things to focus on."

"But is it true there were as many girls in your maze as their were guys in our maze?" Kuboyasu asked.

"Yup!" Yumehara replied, taking a skewer off the grill. "It was pretty peaceful for a while. Right, Mera?" She got no reply from the girl. When she turned to her left and saw she wasn't standing there, she shrugged and turned back. "What the?!" Her skewer was missing. She then turned to her right to see Mera munching on the skewer she had just stolen out of her hand. "Mera?!"

"Hm?" She took her last bite. "Sorry! It's really good!"

"Hey," Saiki looked around realizing someone was missing. "Where's Teruhashi?"

"Teruhashi?" Kuboyasu retorted. "She went up there." He pointed to a tall hill a little bit away from the camp. "Said she needed to recollect herself."

"Hm." He stared blankly in the direction Kuboyasu was pointing.

"You should go get her." Yumehara said. "The poor girl hasn't eaten anything yet. She should hurry before it's all gone."

"I mean if she's not hungry, I could just eat hers for her..." Mera offered.

"No way! At least leave her something to come back to!"

"I'll go get her." Saiki said with a small nod, walking past the group toward the hill.

The sun had already been setting before he left, and by the time he trudged up the hill, it was dark.

The first thing he saw was her dark blue hair, being lightly pushed around by the wind as she stood there, wrapping herself in a small blanket. She stared out into the distance as she once did when they were in the desert; a look of longing. Though this time it was slightly different. Saiki could tell it was different. "What are you doing up here?" He asked.

She turned to him briefly before turning her gaze back out to the distance. "Just thinking." She shrugged with a sigh.

"You shouldn't be alone up here, it could be dangerous." Saiki said with slight concern. "Everyone wants you to come back to camp and eat something. You shouldn't keep them waiting."

"Yes, because it would be imperfect of me to keep someone waiting, wouldn't it?" The question caught him off guard, very obviously as his brows furrowed slightly. "My apologies... I didn't mean to come off so brash. It's just..." She looked towards the ground. "I'm very tired... I'm sorry, Saiki."
