18. Thriller Bark

Aruna PoV

In these few days, all the crew members were enjoying the new features of the new ship. Before Franky built the ship, I had told him no need to build my room as I preferred to stay in a wide space.

Zoro's voice was suddenly heard through the speaker from the crow nest. "There is a floating barrel on the sea." Luffy was excited and wanted to see what was inside the barrel, so I flew there picked up the barrel from the sea, and brought it back.

"Look! It was written something on it!"

"I think it is an offering to the sea."

"So will we get punishment if we open the barrel?"

"Pray before you open the barrel, put back something in return then I guess you will be fine," Robin said.
"Are you sure about that?" Usopp was still scared.

After some discussion, we still decided to open the barrel to take a look. Instead of the food or booze, a red light shoots out from the barrel and is launched into the sky.

"Did we just reveal our location to someone or maybe the enemy?" I asked. At the same time, a storm also heading to us so Nami ordered us to head to the southwest. Franky unveiled a new feature, the Soldiers Dock, Channel 0. A set of peddle wheels appeared on both sides of the ship, so we could move the ship faster.

"So did we arrive at Fish-Man Island?" Usopp asked.

"Take a look around, do you think something like Fish-Man Island will look like this?" I questioned him. The place was surrounded by broken ships and the mist was all around the place. Suddenly, we heard a singing voice from somewhere.

"Did you hear that?" Usopp asked scarily.

"Yea, I heard that. And look over there, a skeleton was on that ship." I pointed at one of the ghost ships.

Our straw hat captain, who was excited and curious at the same time, wanted to board the ship. After the result of the draw, Nami, Sanji, and I accompanied Luffy board on the ship.

"Aruna, you had to protect me," Nami said with her trembling voice while hugging my neck from the back.
When we arrived at the deck, we saw a skeleton with afro hair. He greeted us and introduced himself as Brook, a musician.

Then he turned to look at me and Nami. "Yohohoho, a giant woman and a small girl. May I see your panties?" He asked us unexpectedly.

Nami climbed down from my back and punched him on the head, "Of course not!"

"You're so much fun! Join my crew!" Luffy asked him with a sparkle in his eyes.

"Sure," Brook said casually.

Then we left the ghost ship and returned to Thousand Sunny. "Hey, aren't you guys supposed to prevent Luffy from doing something stupid? And you Aruna, I thought you are the most rational among them." Usopp scolding us.

"Come on. I think it is fun too. It's just a skeleton, not a big deal." I said to Usopp.

"Not a big deal?! That is a talking skeleton!" He exclaimed.

"And I'm also the only survivor of an extinct unique race and I'm still here in the crew. I retorted making the snipper silent, thinking about what I said.

Meanwhile, Brook said he was hungry and asked for something to eat. So Sanji prepared the dinner for all of us. Brook also explains that he was eating a devil fruit which made him from his dead. At the same time, Usopp noticed that he had no shadow or reflection. He explained his shadow was stolen. This causes him to leave the Florian Triangle as he would die if he were under the sun.

"We can help you get your shadow back. Tell us who is the culprit." Luffy said to the skeleton.

"I don't want any harm to happen to my new friends. So I refused your help."

After dinner, Brook wanted to play the violin for us and suddenly a ghost appeared on the ship. Just then, the gates of Thriller Bark capture the Thousand Sunny.
Brook warned us to escape. Then he runs across the water to Thriller Bark.

"Let's explore on Thriller Bark!" Luffy said after Brook left the ship.

"What Luffy?! We should quickly escape the place!"

"We are confined within a large wall which encircles the entire island. So we can't leave here easily."

"I suggest you try our new Soldiers Dock system," Franky recommended and revealed a Mini Merry, a small boat. Usopp, Nami, and Chopper immediately jumped in to try out and make their way to the shore.

The rest of us stayed at Thousand Sunny, listening to Franky explaining the Soldiers Dock system, suddenly the group was attacked by some invisible things.

"Hey, what's wrong with you guys?" I asked them.

"I don't know, it seems something invisible was attacking us." Zoro and Luffy said.

"But I didn't feel anything," I said.

Robin attempted to resist using her devil fruit powers to hold it back yet was disturbingly licked by this invisible menace. "It is sticky."

"Oh gosh, that's disgusting. If I found out who is behind this, I'm gonna chop down the head." I said. Then our ship began to pull closer to the island and caught in the giant web. "Look, Mini Merry was also caught by the web and Nami and the rest were gone."

We decided to explore the island. Following the path, we discovered three head dogs, or two dogs one fox I guess? "Are they mimicking the Cerberus?

Luffy attacked them and they were tamed by Luffy. He climbed up its back and we continued wandering the forest and discovered some weird creatures.

"Join my crew!" Luffy said while trying to capture and convince the weird creatures. "Hey Luffy, don't ask anyone to join the crew!" We scolded our captain.
