×Angie POV×

At first I didn't notice the other person in the water. I was fully concentrated on killing the octopuses last heart.

Its arms were already loosely hanging off it's body, not wrapped around the boat anymore. I knew it was angry but it's movements were uncoordinated, desperate.

But something got me distracted- or rather someone.
I recognized his silhouette. It would be too much of a coincidence to be anyone else but him.
Why the fuck would Dean jump after me?

It seemed he was even more disoriented than the octopus, changing his direction over and over, probably to find me. With his normal human sight he wouldn't even stand a chance.

Hell, he probably didn't even notice the octopus even though it was the size of a truck.

And the animal got lucky- it grabbed Deans leg, pulling him towards his body. It would kill him.
And now I had two things to worry about at once.

Technically, I could attack the octopus from the angle I was in right now but it would take me a whole lot of power to do. And maybe i wouldn't have enough strength to not only get out of the water myself but to also rescue Dean who by now, was probably passed out.

I made worse situations work.
I had to hold myself together until we reached the surface and then Keza was hopefully ready to help me.

I gathered my magic, pulling it out of every last cell inside of my body to bundle it up into a weapon. I aimed towards the octopuses arm first, freeing Dean from its grip.
Then, I shot a second attack, aiming for the last heart of the monster.

I could sense its life energy fading, could see how it slowly sunk.
But it wasn't only the octopus heading into the depths of the ocean- Dean also didn't move.

I closed the distance between him and me and grabbed him around his chest. Without my arms I was becoming slower at moving up.
I must be crazy.
I could already feel myself faint and I knew I also didn't have much time left until I couldn't bear it anymore and I'd have to breathe in.

If I was sane I would've had to announce that Dean was just a collateral damage the second he jumped off the boat- but I couldn't. For some reason I held onto him even though he was physically dragging me down.

I couldn't even figure out the distance that was left to the surface, I moved my legs at such a speed that I didn't even feel them anymore. This was a close shot. Way too close.

My body was protesting, shutting down but I forced myself to keep going until-

I gasped for air.
And again.
A wave hit my face and I accidentally swallowed some of it, coughing violently while at the same time trying not to let go of Dean.
I was almost sure he wasn't breathing yet.

The next minute passed like I was in a strange fever dream. Sam and Keza helped me get Dean up the boad again and his brother threw him on the ground, causing his lungs to get the water he swallowed back out.

Dean immediately looked around, spitting and cursing until his eyes met mine.
I only saw the green in his iris and muttered a "fuck you" while I passed out.

When I woke up again, I felt a presence I haven't encountered in a very long time. An angel.
