Chapter Four:  A Trip Into Town

It was a surprise the next morning when Tsuna found himself curled up next to Xanxus. The first thought that went through his head was justifiably 'What the hell?' The next few resulted in him pushing the older man off his bed and onto the floor, before he ended up throwing himself on the floor on the other side of the bed.

"What the hell was that for, brat?!" Xanxus demanded, rubbing his head where it had hit the hardwood floor.

"What are you doing in my bed?" Tsuna's voice still hurt from the amount of speaking he'd done the day before, but that wasn't going to stop him from getting answers.

Xanxus sat up and locked eyes with the teenager over the bed, "You're Flames flared last night and woke me up."

"Flames..?" he gasped and slammed his hands over his mouth. "Oh, my god! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to wake you up."

"Don't worry about it, brat."

Tsuna didn't say anything more as he turned his attention to the floor in front of himself. He didn't know his Flames acted up at night. Was this a nightly thing or just a one time occurrence? Either way, he was going to look into it. That still begged the questions as to why Xanxus was in his bed. He told the man as such.

"You're Flames..." he said after a moment, voice strangely sombre and expression saddened, "They were crying. I only came to see what was up before you woke any of the others. You latched onto me and refused to let go, so I was stuck here."

He had the feeling Xanxus was leaving out some details, but he wasn't going to push for them. He'd be told in due time, his Intuition told him as such. For now, he was going to get ready for the day. He didn't have a lot to do and only planned to get a cat, but maybe he'd stop by Shoichi's house?

Ignoring the older man in the room, Tsuna walked into his closet - just barely wide enough for him to fit with a few extra inches between himself and the door - and closed the door behind himself to change in the dark. WHile in the confined space, Tsuna let his thoughts wander. Particularly, he thought about what Zanzus had said about his Flames acting up. 'It apparently wasn't strong enough to wake the others...Maybe it's a thing only Skies can sense? That would explain that. But it doesn't explain why he came in here to check up on me.' He hummed, 'What did I dream about last night?'

Normally, one doesn't remember their dreams. Human minds are constantly receiving information in the form of memories. While sleeping, the ability to make those memories is reduced significantly because of the lack of new information being sent to the brain. So, try as he might, Tsuna couldn't remember what he had dreamt. 'It probably wasn't important.'

Leaving the closet, he looked over to where Xanxus was now sitting on his bed. The man had his eyes closed, so Tsuna thought he'd fallen back asleep. It was, after all, only 6:45. Most people don't like being awake this early in the morning.

"You're finally done changing, brat?"

Then again, Xanxus isn't most people.

"Y-yeah."

"Good." he swung his legs off the bed, "Because we're staying here, I'm sending Levi to go get our stuff in a bit. We're setting up base here for now. I'll stay in your room with you while the others scatter themselves around the house." As an afterthought he added, "Is that okay with you?"

Despite the small adrenaline rush less than twenty minutes ago, Tsuna's brain was still lagging a bit, so it took him a minute to register what Xanxus had said as the two of them left the room. "That's fine with me," he said, "But why are you asking permission?"
