Chapter Thirteen: Day Five: Bad Day

The fifth day of the trip is when things got really exciting. Exciting in a sadistic and masochistic way. It was the kind of excitement that the Varia thrive in. Tsuna woke up bright and early with the sun because the little voice in the back of his head said that he was not gonna like whatever was on his phone. It also had an absurd amount of joy in telling him to look at his phone. He did. Turning over, he decided it wasn't worth it.

"What're you doing up so early?" Reborn jumped up to sit on his pillow.

Tsuna, not yet awake enough to get into character, said, "What're you doing in a room of students?"

Reborn was amused. "Oh? Grow a spine during the night, did you?"

'Shit. Oh, well. Too late, now.' The brunet groaned and turned back over to look at the hitman through the tired haze covering his eyes. "I've always had a spine, I've just usually had a filter to go with it." He yawned. "It's too early for this."

"Then why're you awake?" Was that espresso he was sipping?

"The voice," The smell of the drink was good. He could use a good dose of caffeine, especially if he isn't going to be able to go back to sleep. "The voice told me to wake up, so I did. I don't like the message I found on my phone, so I'm hoping it'll go away if I go back to sleep."

Reborn, for the moment, was going to ignore the whole 'hearing voices' thing. He took another sip of his drink. "That's not how things work."

A long, tired sigh. "I know," He sat up and stretched his hand out to the toddler-sized hitman.

"What are you doing?"

"You're coffee."

"What about it?"

"I want some."

"No."

"You're standing on my pillow and preventing me from going to sleep. The least you can do is let me have a sip of your drink."

Reborn smirked. "I like you better without a filter." he handed the brunet his cup, "You'd share a drink with a stranger?"

Still without a functioning filter at the moment, Tsuna shrugged- "Stranger?" -pulled the cup to his lips- "You haven't been a stranger since I caught you stalking me weeks ago, Sun-chan." -and took a drink.

Despite the awful nickname, Reborn found a lot of amusement in the fact that Tsuna had yet to realise what he'd said. He started to count the seconds before the brunet's thoughts caught up with his mouth. After five seconds, he could practically hear the record screech.

Tsuna froze and snapped his eyes open at the same moment. 'What the hell did I just say?!'

"Bingo." Reborn smirked. He took his cup from Tsuna. "So what's your real name?"

Tsuna closed his eyes on his next exhale. Then, with the swiftness of a cat, he flopped onto his side to face the wall and covered his head with the blanket. 'This is all just a dream.' he told himself, 'A really, really bad dream!'

Reborn's smirk leaked into his voice, "I already told you that's not how that works, Dame-Tsuna."

"Reborn?" Thank god for Sawada Ieyasu! His voice had called the hitman's attention. Said hitman gave a soft kick to Tsuna's head before he left to go to his student. "What're you doing? You can't wake the others up! Besides, the sun's only just rising."

"Is it?" Reborn still sounded smug and Tsuna had the feeling the man was gonna ride whatever high he's on all day long. "And I wasn't waking him up. Tsuna's been awake. He was just telling me how much he knows about the mafia."
