Chapter Sixteen: Going Home
"An alibi?" Shoichi asked, "Yeah, I can do that. Why?"
"Well, the Vongola are getting a little," Lussaria trailed off for a moment, "pushy for answers. Poor Tsu-chan's been watched since he got off the plane."
"That bad, huh? Gimme a minute. I'll call Tsuna as his mother or something with an emergency."
"Alright." he hung up.
"Come on, Tsuna," Xanxus nudged the younger brunet towards the mansion, "We'll meet ya outside the main gates."
Tsuna nodded, "Alright." When his phone went off, he put up an act and answered his friend. The Varia disappeared. "Hello?" he asked. Now that he was in view of the cameras, he had an act. "What's wrong?" He gasped dramatically, calling the attention of the gardeners. "Is everyone alright?"
"Luna's doing perfectly fine. She did bite my hand, though, and I started bleeding."
Resisting the urge to laugh, Tsuna ran back into the mansion and into the dining room, completely expelling all manners in his act. "Nezu-sensei!" he called, ignoring everyone's eyes on him, especially the Vongola's eyes, "I-I have to go- My- There's-" he brought forth more tears, "There's an emergency at home," he explained quickly, "my-my father- he's in the-the hospital!"
Chrome was quick to stand and comfort the boy. Under the guise of comfort she quietly asked, "Is everything alright?"
He forced the tears to fall faster as he murmured, "I'll explain everything when we're alone."
"Is everything alright?" Timoteo stood from his chair and approached Tsuna.
He flinched back slightly, "Y-yeah, sir. I'm so-so sorry about disrupting but-"
"It's alright," the man smiled softly, "Let's go into the hall and you can explain there."
Tsuna nodded. Shoichi had yet to hang up, so he guessed that he was recording what was going on on Tsuna's end. Once out in the hall with Chrome beside him, and Timoteo, Reborn and Iemitsu Sawada facing him, he let his tears slow down a bit. "My-my father was in an accident back home," he said, "My mo-mom is having my-my aunt pick me up from here to-to take me to the airport. I-I have to go home! I-!"
"Shh," Chrome hushed him. For some reason, Mukuro was snickering in her head. Did he know something she didn't? Probably.
"We could take you to the airport," Iemitsu offered, though his eyes were holding back hurt. Why was he feeling hurt? "Surely, you'll get there faster."
Tsuna shook his head. "No, no. I-I'll be fine. Mom called my aunt before she called me," he was letting himself calm down a bit, "My aunt's already on her way here. She'll be here soon."
"If you're sure," Timoteo said.
"Do you need help packing?" Chrome offered.
Tsuna nodded to her before wiping his eyes on his sleeve. "I'm real-really sorry," he didn't meet anyone's eyes, "I didn't mean to cause a scene. I'm not normally like this."
"It's quite alright, child," the old Sky moved to pat Tsuna's head, but he pulled his hand back when the child flinched back. He motioned to the blond beside him, "This is Iemitsu Sawada. His son is in your class." Tsuna nodded, well aware of this fact, "I'll have him wait with you for your aunt at the front gates. Sniffling, he nodded again and let Chrome take him up to the room he was staying in.
Once the small brunet was out of sight, Reborn spoke up. "Well, that's convenient."
Timoteo nodded. "Indeed."
