"Fine, I'll marry her," Alessandro said,

"This is not what I signed up for," Chiara said through gritted teeth.

I was beginning to feel trapped, and the thought of marrying Alessandro filled mewith dread.

"But I'm paying you well," Alessandro said, his voice as cold as ice. I couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation.

I had thought that this job would be easy money, but now I was beginning to regret my decision.

Rosalba stood frozen in shock, unable to comprehend what had just happened. She turned to Maria, who looked as stunned as she felt.

"Calm down, Rosalba," Maria said, her voice soothing and reassuring.

"Don't tell me to calm down!" Rosalba shouted, tears streaming down her face.

Fabrizio looked from one Alessandro to Chiara, "What is the meaning of all this?"

"Fabrizio, what the hell is going on here?" Guido said, his voice shaking with rage. "Did you invite my family here to be humiliated by your son?"

"I'm just as confused as you are," Fabrizio said. "Give me a minute to think."

"I don't need a minute," Guido said, "I need answers."

He turned on his heel and stalked out of the room, his wife and daughter close behind him.

"Alessandro, what is the meaning of this?"

"As you can see, I'm getting married,And I'll give you what you want, so take it or leave it."

Fabrizio felt his anger boil over, but before he could respond, Maria spoke up.

"My dear," she said to Chiara her voice gentle and soothing. "Come and sit down.

"Thank you, ma'am," Chiara said, her voice trembling slightly.

"You're beautiful," Matteo blurted out, unable to resist the urge to compliment her.

Maria's eyes narrowed and she shot Matteo a deadly look, warning him to keep his thoughts to himself.

"What is your name?" Fabrizio asked, his voice stern and commanding.

"My name is Chiara Gonzalez,"

"And your parents?"

"My parents are...late," I said, my voice trailing off.

"Alessandro, come with me to my room right now," Fabrizio said, his voice brooking no argument. Alessandro followed him without hesitation.

"You know Alessandro is dangerous, right?" Maria said,

"Hmmm," Chiara murmured,

Then, Luca spoke up. "Come with me, let me show you around the house, cutie," he said, a playful smile on his face.

As Chiara and Luca left, Maria turned to Matteo, her expression serious and worried.

"Matteo, you are not the person you used to be,You used to be fearless, wicked, and brave. When did you change?"

Matteo's expression darkened, his eyes haunted by memories from the past. "The day you killed the person I loved, that was the day everything changed,"

"I did it to make you stronger,"

"Oh, please, mom,You didn't make me stronger, you made me weak. And now you expect me to stand up to Alessandro? No way."

He turned and walked away, his back stiff and tense. Maria watched him go, her heart breaking at the sight of his pain.

She knew she had made a mistake, and she wished she could take it all back. But it was too late. The damage had been done.
